If a person cannot change their mind, how can they learn?
I saw more news headlines where people were surprised someone they have known for a long time had a new opinion or stance on something. I also frequently see someone being called a "liar" because, they no longer believe what they once did. Simple: It's called learning. Some people need to try it.

There can be no forgiveness without repentance. Some people cannot admit to being wrong or not knowing. Thus they cannot repent and cannot recognize the difference between recognizing being wrong and correcting that state of wrongness through change. The purpose of self improvement is correcting the self and the heart and soul of repentance in law and religion.

But he can learn without changing his mind. How useful learning is to him whilst he keeps the same orientation of his mind is the real question. There is a saying about this that goes something like "To change one's mind is worth 30 IQ points."
No. The sheer fact of learning CHANGES your mind. It adds new knowledge. Therefore it is changed.
If you cannot change your mind then you cannot learn.
Though I think you may agree just that first sentence is false as far as I can tell logically. Learning is change.
To learn entails a change. I cannot dispute that. I just don't think it is Mind which changes. The ideas one knows or accepts as valid change with learning. But the mind, that is perspective, attitude, isn't it? which can stay the same longer than the thoughts one thinks.

Changing in life shows the person is moving
Learning from experience of others is the best way of living 100 years even u died in the age of 60.
Or living thousands of years. We stand on the shoulders of those that came before us. Unless we choose to censor the past. Then we fall into ignorance.
