Why people don't ask me to babysit.

in #story7 years ago (edited)

A number of years ago I was a parent volunteer on a campout my son's class went on. It was a weekend which the school sends the kids in 5th or 6th grade to go on. I don't know why I would get "volunteered" to do things like this but I didn't mind as I liked to encourage my son in any way possible. As a parent volunteer, I was to make sure my son and his friends went to their sleeping bags and tents in a timely fashion each night. To also help make it more memorable I would weave increasingly gruesome stories about the "history" of the park that we were staying in. After the first night, I had noted the creaking and scratching noises the trees would make as the wind would blow and make them sway. This reply that I posted to @eljose27 in response to a story he had written is roughly the same story that I told the boys the second night...

For some reason one of the mother's asked me to stop telling night time stories to the boys the next day.
