Walk with me: Fontaine Vaucluse
Le Notre dame de saint Véran is a very, very old church, it dates from the Xth century and it is said that it was build on the remains of an even older sanctuary that was dedicated to a heathen god of water.
Quite a lot of water here: we are going to climb to the well in the rocks above the village, after visiting this old church.
You gotta love the entrance; such a beautiful old door with beautiful ironwork.
Inside there are a couple of very old stained glas windows.
The river that flows through this village is crystal clear but appears to be green. Beautiful shiny and lush green from the water plants, its quite a sight!
Here we will leave the last houses of the (very touristic) village to climb the rocky hill that protects this valley.
I love the details in the houses of the Provence
Its quite a climb, as you see but its worthwhile.
When ever i visit here i take some of the water to make my flower remedies, there is a lot of strong energy in it.
And all the way up there was this little lonely tree that caught my attention
And we have arrived at the well
I visit out of season so nobody gets upset if i climb over the fence to take a closer look.
The well is very low in this pic, i have seen it much more full.
And to close the walk - the secret of the well in Fontaine Vaucluse....
More info about this well and her village you can find here:

Now let's go down and take a petit café and a bit of rest on one of the village terraces
(All pics are my own)
Thank you for walking with me!
Fancy more of these walks....?
Don't forget to steem some #scent; this is how they steemed scent in ancient times:
There is a lot more to be seen here - let's keep that for another walk!
