Holy Empty Space, BATMAN!

in GEMS4 years ago (edited)

As it happens, I'm actually not a great writer. I much prefer taking photographs. This is just as well, they say a photo speaks a thousand words. I also love to photograph in black and white (monochrome) because it allows me to cut through the noise of colour and capture lines and shapes on the streets. Lines, shapes, shades and moods usually represent the emotion of a scene much better than colour - it certainly does for people.

When I came across the scene, it was actually quite magnificent in colour too. This is one of those exceptions where the colour is just as powerful in some respect. However, the monochrome still speaks more to the situation than the colour.

Talking about the photo, I'm not sure if this scene was deliberately set up like this or not. I just found it very interesting that Batman was starring at these empty seats, one which had been cut in half. The way it was cut, it seems as though something powerful did the cutting - like a machine, or perhaps the laser beams from the eyes of a superhero.

The style of the furniture was vintage in a way that it would fit perfectly in a Gotham City scene.

When it comes to street art, it's hard to tell then it moves from just wall art, to an entire performance. Was it the same artist that painted Batman that placed the seats there? There they different artists? Was it even art or just a coincidence? These are questions that will probably never be answered.
