Make the time to have those meaningful, full of life conversations that make you feel good all over. We get so busy in our lives and sometimes lose touch with those we shared a moment with. Everybody needs those meaningful relationships that link us to one another. Sometimes forget how to take care of my own little garden.

Not every person has to be a close friend, but in this fast-paced, no time for anything world, it is nice to remind each other once in a while – through thoughts and deeds, however small -that we care.

Let's not forget the family. They deserve the same respect and deference that you give your friends. They are more important and always will be.

It is without a doubt that this man made the time for people, wherever he went and whatever he did. I couldn't help but notice, that the Old Man - whoever he is, is so loved. So, so loved. Happy Birthday, Old Man, your girls love you! - at Arlington Cemetery

As an aside, this niche was over five feet from the ground, which means his girls either got hoisted up on someone's shoulders or brought a ladder! Tell me that's not LOVE!!!!

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
