Portrait of A Ray
This is the same Ray that was teasing my son in my other post (https://steemit.com/life/@driptorchpress/one-day).
I didn't even notice his eye until I looked at this. I can't say I ever thought of rays having eyes for some reason.
My mind is blown looking at him, since in my imagination the slits on top of his head have always been a rays eyes.
Now I am wondering if what looks like his smile is really his mouth. In my mind the little holes on the bottom were the mouth (or mouths). Now I have to completely change how I picture rays!
Strangest angle of this fish species I have ever seen. Like, is that face or what?!
I had to google "manta rays" and "sting rays" to see for myself if others compare..
I realized that I took a picture of the information sign. It's a cow nose ray. Apparently that slit is a big nostril used to create more suction for the mouth. Next time I will actually read the signs while I am there lol. But the eyes. For some reason I always picture them with a whole face on the bottom or the eyes right on top the head. It's just this particular type that has those eyes.
Turtle flying :)
