Steemit Philippines - Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 8 (Week 3) || “Silver Lining"

in Steemit Philippines2 years ago
I agree that this contest talks about a serious topic, and I can relate to it very well. As a former marketing professional who lost his well paying job suddenly for no fault of his own, it was not so easy to cope with. Fortunately, I faced no financial problems, but the mental agony was beyond my toleration level, so I was disappointed to the point of crashing my head against the nearest wall.

Just as every moment of life teaches us something, this Corona period has also taught us something. Perhaps some humans have understood the agony of being held captive. But we all knew that this difficult time will pass, but the only question that haunted us was how long will it take. This is what we have expressed. Precautions were taken during the lock down, and yoga was adopted so our immunity would increase and help us overcome the epidemic.

But this pandemic brought immense pressure on the global economy. We saw a serious recession, and economic activity came to a standstill. The economics of liquidation were very simple. All businesses had stopped bringing in profits, so many businesses laid off their employees, and I was one of them. And they were right in that if they don't produce, they won't be able to sell things. This means that they will not make a profit, so they will have less scope to hire you.

The worst thing that could have happened to me was losing my job and being forced to return to India. I had a good job as the country head of an equipment manufacturing multinational in the milk industry. Businesses can and do retain workers they do not need immediately. But I knew they would need me in the coming time. And not only me, but they will need all their workers to meet the demand that will arise in the event that the economy comes back to life again.

I will be back at my job within the next few months, but I lost over two years sitting at home. The good thing is that I found Steemit in the meantime and forgot some of my pain, although money was not a problem for me. That was no lesser a silver lining in my life.

When a general crisis comes, it is easy to solve. but governments spend a lot of money. Governments spend money until people start consuming and working. But, for the time being, a simple intervention will not work because we do not want the economy to crash. The whole purpose of the lock down was that people should not go to work and spread the virus.

It was not a cash economy in which production is done on a large scale. Rather, we needed an anti-war like economy and massive cuts in production. If we wanted to have the strength to survive future pandemics, we needed to create a system that was capable of reducing production in a way that did not affect people's livelihoods. And I am grateful to our government for handling everything so well. I can see our government providing free grains to 800 million people and still doing so until next year, even if most of them have returned to work. That was a silver lining for hundreds of millions that were on the verge of starving.

Would you believe it? I have been trying to work on a staycation ever since the pandemic restricted us from going out for our regular travel experiences. I have met some wonderful people with some wonderful ideas about staycations. They all have something different but are as interesting as each other. So this was an oportunity or what you call a silver lining in the life of people that were dying to go out.

For instance, one of my friends told me that they looked no further than their own property to enjoy their staycation. They have a large backyard with a fire pit, a hammock, and warm mood lighting throughout, so they made it their go-to place. They put up a number of wind chimes and located them in such a way that one would hear different tones from different parts of their property. It's like a sound garden, a very unique idea that is so serene.

Creating an enticing outdoor living space, complete with furniture, all-weather flooring, a fire feature, and a barbecue, can help motivate everyone to escape the boredom of indoors, and that's what they did. Or maybe they transformed their backyard into a campsite by setting up a tent and sleeping outdoors for the night!

So whenever we got a chance, we never forgot to sit around the fire and sing songs while enjoying roasted veggies, potatoes, and whatnot together.

My plans are simple: I will return to my job in about two months and continue working, but this time I will bring Steemit with me. I will add a few more industries in Australia and New Zealand to my customers' list and also update my profile on LinkedIn so that, in any future crisis, I could get a job easily.

I have a few plans about Steemit as well, as I have just completed my first dolphin status, but I have an ambitious plan to reach 4x dolphin status by the end of the year 2023.

I've just started my own community called SteemFiction, and I'm hoping to take it to the next level by adding creative writers in fiction and creative writing. And my last plan is to not withdraw a single steem from this website, not until the end of this year, as I have done so far.

I have another plan and that is more than my plan, my passion. I will continue traveling in different countries like I was doing before this dreaded disease took over. I have certain plans in my mind and that includes doing a book on travel. I will take the opportunity of completing it as soon as I resume my work.

I have heard interesting stories from you but I want to say something to you that you are saying that you your time in your home but I want to say to you that at that time when you remain in your home it was don't the wastage of your time it was the utilisation of your time because it was opportunity for you to spend quality time with your family and I can understand your situation that you are thinking you lost many things.

But it is good thing that you understand already that because the silver lining behind this so I don't need you elaborate the things more and I just want to say that ups and downs are the part of life and we should not give up by having critical situations we should just work hard and hard.

Your plans are good for the year 2023 that you will join your job and I wish you best of luck and I wish you a lot of success in your life in your job as well as at this platform and specially in this contest in which you show your beautiful participation and tell us about your personal story.

Thank you for your review.

It's great to see how you incorporated Steemit into your plans for the future. Your determination to bring Steemit with them to their job and add more industries to their customer list is quite impressive. Moreover, the ambition to reach 4x dolphin status on Steemit by the end of 2023 is quite inspiring. Your commitment to not withdraw any steem from the website until the end of the year showcases their dedication to their goals.

Well wishes for your future 😊

Thanks a lot @aviral123 for such a nice feedback 👍That's right, I am here on this platform and have yet to withdraw anything. Incidentally I have started my own community for creative and fiction writers and paying contestants from my own wallet. I hope I will take my community to next level and support budding writers. Thank you once again.

You're welcome 😊

silver lining juga bisa menjadi inspirasi bagi kita untuk membantu orang lain yang mengalami kesulitan atau menghadapi tantangan yang sama

So very true, that's the meaning of life. Give and take is what is reality of life. We come to know the facts when we go through the hardness of life.

@dove11 greetings

You have written beautifully about the life silver lining how you faced it and able to survive more better than before.

It could not be denied we don't have tough time in life, everyone endure it according to will power they have. Few become successful others failed.

Corona and pandemic effect the life of everyone, many people lost life, few lost jobs and as you wrote you lost job and cone back to India.

Now, see how successful you are, the blavk day had passed and life new hopes are there.
Blessings
