Patient-Death Scandal Worsens For Mount Carmel
The Mount Carmel hospital system in Ohio is at the center of a growing patient-death scandal that involves allegations that numerous patients might have lived if they would've received proper care, instead it's reported that several were wrongfully given excessive amounts of painkillers which might have contributed to their death.
It's reported that at least three dozen intensive-care patients lost their lives after they had received excessive painkiller doses while being cared for in the hospital system.

Now, there are reports suggesting that 2 hospitals with the Mount Carmel healthcare system in Ohio might lose their Medicare funding because of the recent scandal.
A spokeswoman for the healthcare system has suggested that they are willing to work with authorities fully to be sure that something like this never takes place again. It's expected that they will soon be submitting an action plan to address the incident, along with detailed plans on how they intend to ensure patient safety going forward.
Families of the victims are left now reliving the pain and fighting for justice for their loved ones.
The CEO and President of Mount Carmel has released two statements on the matter and has admitted that there weren't proper processes in place to prevent this sort of situation from happening because of the ability of individuals to override access to pain medications from dispensing machines at the hospital.
