Pardoning War Criminals But Arresting People Over Pot

in #life5 years ago (edited)

When you endorse, pardon, and support, criminality and wrongdoing in a time of war, then you are no less of a threat than the enemy you claim to be trying to defeat and protect people from.

How does it make sense that in the United States people are currently arrested over cannabis possession and exchanges, a peaceful and victimless crime, and some have spent decades behind bars for it.

Meanwhile, other individuals have been accused and later convicted of the most unimaginable acts of violence against innocent people, but their murderous actions should be overlooked because those acts took place in a time of conflict.

When it is a time of war, that doesn't translate to mean then that people all of a sudden don't have human rights. How does it make sense to pardon and excuse acts like murder and rape, but be content on criminalizing and punishing those who peacefully medicate with cannabis? Or those who choose to trade and grow cannabis? Federal prohibition still remains against cannabis, tens of thousands are still arrested every year.

Some might say that those who are most honorable in their line of duty will reaffirm that they strive to uphold the laws of war, because there is no honor or dignity in becoming like the enemy and lowering yourself to attack and terrorize innocent others; regardless of the pressures.

What message does it send to excuse these sorts of actions? Might it in any way encourage war crimes? All the while the government maintains a more strict stance on cannabis than they do incredible acts of violence during a time of war.

It's confusing how the govt thinks.

It probably stems from very aggressive laws on marijuana that existed from the 60s, 70s, 80s till now.

Most counties need to revise their laws on marijuana like Canada did.

@doitvoluntarily, Really unfortunate to know about these Two aspects. In my opinion what is wrong is wrong and what is right is right.

If we try to make wrong looks like right and right looks like wrong definitely we are watching the deception.

Status quo = Power, profit, and control.
Good = Respecting and protecting innocent life.
Evil = Hurting, oppressing, or killing, for fun or for profit.

Does the government respect and protect innocent life? Or do they hurt, oppress, or kill for fun or for profit?
