New York Businesses Selling CBD Food and Drink Items Are Forced To Get Rid Of Their Goods

in #cannabis5 years ago

Various businesses in New York City that have been busy selling CBD edibles have recently been forced to throw out their inventory after a citywide ban was introduced this year.

Any businesses caught selling cbd products could face hundreds of dollars in fines.

The ban was conjured up by the city's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and was supposed to go into effect on July 1st of this year.

The fines weren't supposed to start allegedly until later in the year, once businesses were found to be not in compliance with the new rules.

Many businesses and individuals living in the region, aren't in favor of the ban. They don't agree with the violence that's being inflicted up on peaceful people for what are ultimately peaceful and willing exchanges. No one is forcing anyone to purchase the cbd edibles etc, they are doing so willingly, and it is a violation of their personal choice to inflict violence upon them for their personal decision, no matter how controversial it might be. Just the same, it's unjust to force businesses to throw away their property too, it's a waste of perfectly good cbd products.

Increasingly, those selling cbd products in the region have faced threats and been raided of their products.

"For Your Safety" Government Agencies Initiate Threats Of Violence

Though they might not agree with the rules, businesses in the region are scared to be caught violating the prohibition.

The FDA still insists that food and drink products that contain cbd are restricted, though many are hoping that this might soon change.

The FDA has recently been looking to strengthen the warning that adding cbd to food and beverages is still prohibited in their eyes, even though there might be tens of millions of people living in the United States who are willing to try this product.

The people already have access to incredible amounts of legalized, yet potentially harmful products, all over the shelves, everywhere that you go. Considering this, it's frustrating to see the FDA prioritize their efforts in trying to crackdown on something as arguably harmless and as potentially beneficial as cbd-laced food and drink items.

Why can't millions of individuals decide for themselves what might be safe to put into their body? On news of the ban and threats to toss the goods, many businesses in New York City reportedly held flash sales to get rid of their remaining inventory and the products sold out quickly.

The huge demand for the goods, regardless of what the FDA thinks of the products, demonstrates the willingness of people to take the risk here and purchase the products. They should be able to make their own choices on this matter, without them or the merchants etc, facing violence as a consequence over it.
