Marley Still Going Strong

Millions of people love and still listen to Bob Marley's music today even though he passed years ago, his influence in the world of reggae music is undeniable.

So it might be surprising for some to find out that regardless of the success his name has seen over time, Marley himself never managed to see a hit single on the Billboard U.S. chart.

Marley didn't see success in the way of hitting the Top 40 charts multiple times with his iconic tunes, that you might expect for someone who has created music that is loved around the world, with people of all different ages.

Bob Marley will remain one of the most celebrated artists in history despite never becoming established on U.S. mainstream radio while he was alive, with multiple Top 40 hits.

After 30 years, Marley finally saw top 10 success on the Billboard 200 with his Bob Marley & the Wailers' album Legend and that album has become one of the best selling reggae albums of all time in music history.

According to Forbes, the Marley family hadn't seen their first top 10-charter in history until not Bob, but Skip Marley managed to achieve the accomplishment with his work on the single Chained To The Rhythm with Katy Perry.

This was the first hit for Skip Marley and brought a great deal of success to the family with how well it did on the radio. The song was a hit around the world and perhaps gave many a short taste of reggae for the first time, or for the first time in a long time on mainstream radio, with the verse that Marley contributed to it.

After Legend went to the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart, that was the 2nd time for Bob Marley. This was because the accomplishment came after Rastaman Vibration had managed to get there as well, and it eventually peaked at number 8.

Rastaman Vibration was the first release from Bob Marley to get to the top 10 chart.

Today, Bob Marley has sold millions of albums and still continues to drive top vinyl record sales with his past works.
