Adjusting For Road Maintenance Failure
There are millions of potholes in the UK right now, which contribute a tremendous amount of damage in the way of destroying tires, suspension, and wheels.
The many miles of roads in the United Kingdom that are in poor condition at the moment, peppered with potholes, pose a real safety risk to drivers and it's mind-boggling to fathom that an organization which takes in billions of dollars from the public, is unable to maintain roads in an efficient manner. Especially, considering that safety is supposedly a top priority for them.
For those who are in charge of maintaining the roads (government), whether due to their unwillingness or inability, they've thoroughly demonstrated that they might not be the best ones to allocate that responsibility to.
Officials frequently suggest that they don't have the funding to get the job done, but the government receives billions of dollars from taxpayers every year. So while they claim that there isn't enough money for things like roads, we also know that the UK government has spent billions of dollars on things like fighting in never-ending conflict overseas. Meanwhile, it's estimated that it would cost hundreds of millions to fix all of the potholes and they've also allocated millions already toward trying to fix the issue.
Whether or not they have the funds to do it, their ability and efficiency in carrying-out the task should be another consideration altogether.
The road conditions in the UK are so terrible, that the Automobile Association has recently suggested making an adjustment to driving tests; they say that drivers should learn how to properly avoid potholes because of how ubiquitous they've become.
They suggest that potholes should be included in the hazard perception portion of the driver test and recommend that when faced with a pothole that drivers should try to stay in their lane, avoid making any big swerves, and slow down if needed to try and avoid the hole.
Drivers and their driving instructors have even broken down on the road because of the potholes that they've had to tackle during their driving lessons. In some instances they even had to abandon a driving test over potholes. And driver instructors have also had to try and adjust their lessons so as to try and avoid the potholes whenever possible.
If those who've been tasked to do the job have demonstrated that they cannot meet the need, at what point do we consider an alternative?
Perhaps folks in the UK will need to wait until Domino's decides to remedy the roads there as well?

This is a problem of many cities in the world, some are outsourced and ahun do not do the maintenance, governments collect taxes for it and are not able to repair the streets.

Perhaps it was due to the extreme cold snaps in the winter there this year?
In canada, there is said to be 2 seasons......Winter and Construction. once construction season ends and the snow starts to fall, the pavement gets all shifty with the freezing and expanding and cracking. Then, the snow plows tear that up like mad.
