TAWASUL | THE RYTHM OF REVOLUTION |
I been blessed to take part in a project called Tawasul that took place in 2013 during the intense war times in Syria around September of 2013, a unique collaboration in the purpose of "Tawasul" or "Connecting" took place in Beirut (Lebanon) my City. Hanouneh and The Awakening Band from Sweden teamed up with politically active rappers and musicians from Lebanon, Syria, Palestine and Egypt in the name of the struggle for human rights and freedom. The initiative took course over five days.
The Tawasul project generated thematic workshops, five separate performances across Lebanon and the creation and recording of a 6 track EP. Later it was followed by some of the artists from Middle East visiting Sweden and helding seminars and concerts in three different cities, DJ Lethal Skillz couldn't make it unfortuantly due to delay in his visa and couldn't make it to Sweden on time.**
This project was financed the Swedish Institute and the Creative Force MENA Program also the project was organized by Don Dada production, Center for Middle Eastern Studies, Re:Orient and Shams Association.

Dope collaboration. Hanouneh and The Awakening Band did really well producing a diverse sound for this EP. I don't understand the lyrics, but I can feel the heart of the artist.
Word up @scuzzy Gald u dig the music mah man, this was a collaboration between a live sweetish reggae band " Hanouneh and The Awakening Band" a local Lebanese oriental musicians and a collective of Arab rappers from Palestine, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt. Given the mix that was the outcome in 5 days living in the studio.
