Motion on stills
Adding motion to the photo makes it much more appealing and visually interesting. The process of editing is a little bit more complicated but results worth the time and effort. All of these photos I edited in Affinity Photo app on IPad. The application resembles Adobe Photoshop and it is the only professional photography tool that you can find on iOS.
The first photo looks like a time warp. I started with usual photo corrections, tweaked exposure, curve, whites, and blacks. After the preparation converted it to black and white. To get this kind of effect you need to use selection tool; so I isolated rescue guy / selected area of the photo where he is in, inverted selection and applied a radial blur to rest of the photo. The result looks pretty interesting.
Next two photos have motion blur effect. The process of achieving this look is a little bit different than the first one. After basic editing and converting to back and white, I applied motion blur by adding a new layer on the whole photo. To expose main subjects I erased part of the layer to reveal the point of interest. The process of erasing is a little bit tricky because if you erase too much it looks unnatural so you have to find a sweet spot, outer parts of subject need to blend in with rest of the photo.
Look of the last photo is achieved by adding zoom blur. The only thing that is not blurred I excluded by using selection tool before adding on zoom blur mask. I hope that this explanation will help some people which are just starting their photo editing journey.
good tips @dijana969 The first image is the best for me, it would be nice to make a poster with it :)
