Lighthouse
Port Adelaide lighthouse has a long and strange history, it was not only helping travelers but it was traveling itself. Originally it was constructed in 1869 near Outer Harbor but for whatever reason, it was moved to the Neptune Island in 1901 and then moved again to a current location in 1986.
This 25 meters high beauty has cast iron skeleton and platform on wooden piles, from 1980 is listed as a South Australian heritage site and managed by the South Australian Maritime Museum. Tourists and visitors have the opportunity to climb to the lantern room and visit the original keepers’ quarters.
Usually, you can find online photos of Port Adelaide lighthouse taken from a distance but I took a different approach and photographed it up close. I hope you will like my take on red steel beauty.

Iconic lighthouse in the Port. Worth climbing to the top for fantastic views of the Port and behond. Only a couple of flights so not too strenuous, Nice photography.
