@hebrew made a powerful post on Saturday, Reading from Genesis 1:17 so, as one of his students, I wish to unveil to you all the mystery behind that scripture.

Light is very important to we humans, we need light in our daily living. It is light that makes us to know that we are alive. Light gives us room to see each other.

Gen 1:1

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the water. Them God said let there be light, and there was light".

The first pronouncement God made was light and that light was called day. Each of us need the day light to go about our daily activities. Even at night we still need light, without the light we can do nothing. The light have power over darkness, the darkness is not alone it is the light that governs the darkness. Darkness is different from night, it is the light of the night that gives us the ability to sleep at night. Without the moonlight we all would have been restless. The light gives us the grace to carry on, while the night gives us the grace to for good night sleep but the difference is that when we cover our eyes we don't see any light. God understood these things, hence He placed light in our body, placed the night in our body.

Gen 1:4

"God saw that the light was good, then He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day and the darkness night. And the evening passed and morning came making the first day".

The light was called day and darkness was called night so darkness was on more, so light and day came to existence. God understood the power of darkness so God silence the darkness. The day is governed with the light of the sun, while the night is governed with the light of the moon. Therefore, the night is also called light but the light if the night is lesser than the light of the day.

Gen 1:16-17

"God made two great lights, the larger one to govern the day and the smaller on to govern the night. He also made the stars".

It was the sun light God divided into night and day, because the Bible said the earth was without form and void and darkness covered the face of the deep and God said let there be light and light appeared. So God divided the light into two and called one day and the other night. This was why God called the two lights greater and lesser.

To crown it all, the world is governed by two lights: the nights and the day. This is why we have nights and day and it was also the first thing God witness in this world. God is the scientist of all scientists, He had already structured the foundation of the earth and put everything in their place. If not for the wisdom of God, what we enjoy today: the night and the day, we would not be enjoying it, the world would have been stocked in one place. We would have been all confused as humans, we would have not been able to read the calendar of the year. Before man was created God understood that man will grow and advance in age, this was why He thought it wise to separate the day from the night. In the morning. The sun will rise in the cloud and give us light, in the evening it will withdraw and the moon will take over because they all have their own function. The moon can not take the place of the sun, while the sun can not take the place of the moon. Scientists can read the weather to know if it would rain or not, but they can not change the decree of God, nobody can change what God has put in place. But we as humans(scientists), we have tried our best to do what it's expected of us to do but God's own is the best.

We use electric light to support the light of the night, but in the day time we don't need light to see because the moon is greater than the light. Like I said, God placed the light in our body, which is the soul. In Genesis 1:2 Just as darkness covered the face of the deep and God said let there be light and the light came, thesame thing happened with man, God said let us make man in our own image after our likeness, He took from the earth and formed man, but man was already formed but lifeless, then God breathed the breath of life upon man, it was that breath of life that separated man from the face of the deep which is the darkness. So that breath of life is called life.

John 1:4

"The word give life to everything that was created and His life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness can never extinguish it".

It is the word that God pronounced that brought light to the world. So the darkness have no power over the light. It is the life of God that brought light to man, so the life that we enjoy today is the life God placed in us, and that life is called spirit or soul, and your spirit is your life.

Conclusion

God is the source of our light. He placed eye in our body to see through the day, while in the night we fall asleep and wake in the morning. Just as the day and night rotates, same we as humans, rotate day and night.
