What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work. In educational contexts, there are differing definitions of plagiarism depending on the institution. Plagiarism is considered a violation of academic integrity and a breach of journalistic ethics. source

Plagiarism, six letters and a word that could change a person's life.

Wondering why I say this?

When you use something that belongs to or is owned by someone else without their permission or without attributing their name by passing it off as your own let me tell you my friends that they are committing plagiarism.

Why do I say it's theft?

Because just as theft is punishable since you are violating the author's rights, it depends on the scope can lead to a monetary demand or if it is in the academic field the expulsion of the person who commits the plagiarism. DO NOT COMMIT PLAGIARISM.

Not only do they make the author who worked hard and worked hard to accomplish something have a hard time, but they also bring it to yourselves.

There are many types of plagiarism below, I will explain the most common

Complete plagiarism:

  • It is to copy, word for word, without making alterations, from a work or an extract of it and not to present the original source of the text.

Paraphrasing without assigning the font:

  • Paraphrasing (i.e. saying the same thing in other words) most of the ideas in a text, without adding its own content, is also plagiarism.
Students use paraphrasing a lot. Modifying only a few words of the original text, in an attempt to make it difficult for the evaluator to identify, but the idea of the text is preserved.

Self-plagiarism:

  • Occurs when you borrow your own content, which has already been presented in previous situations. As for example in steemit a publication that you made a long time ago and had success and you decide to republish the same content with a few modifications, you are committing self-plagiarism.

Can plagiarism be avoided?

Of course, cite all the sources you use, give credit to who belongs to the information you are using and the place where you are getting the information, when you cite someone make it clear, learn the methods of citation do not let anyone do the work for you and you will not have problems.
