Keep Charging Forward

in #motivation6 years ago

This morning I wrote a post that talked about what you ought to do when inspiration strikes you.

Inspiration can strike you at the strangest of times. Seemingly for no reason, many of the times.

For me, inspiration often comes when I see something visual that piques my interest.

I'll see something and then all of the sudden get a strange flow of thoughts.

At first, I'll notice the macro of it -- I'll see the design and the general layout and I'll feel inspired to implement something similar into my own designs.

As this train of thought keeps charging forward, I start to notice more of the details and I start to get more in-depth thoughts about what I want to create.

This is where the fun begins.

I get to work and I charge forth on the ideas I've laid out.

I work quickly and I work relentlessly.

If you catch me in this flow state I will be unattentive to anything but what I'm designing and working on.

Nothing else matters.

I won't care to eat. I won't care to sleep. I won't care to work out.

I won't care about anything other than the designing. Completely present and in the moment.

Sometimes this feeling lasts for an hour. Sometimes only for minutes. Sometimes for more than a whole day.

It always comes to an end and I can feel the roller coaster of emotions.

I have just finished designing the thing that I was inspired to create this morning (at least, the very first rough draft of it) and now comes the implementation of many of the ideas that I have outlined for the design.

This step of the process is what takes incredible levels of effort, time and precision.

It will take many days... Weeks and even months to finish a lot of these ideas.

I will keep charging forward though and I will continue to look anywhere for inspiration on the little details.

The way to complete the little details is step by step. One foot in front of the other.

It's daunting to think about it in any other terms than just 1 day at a time!
