Happy Birthday to me!
Another year has passed and today it’s my birthday again 😊 Last year I made a post to celebrate it, so I thought it was a good idea to do it this year as well…
I feel very blessed to see another year! It might sound cliché, but I do try to live every day like it was my last one – no regrets 😊
Last year was filled with ups and downs but that’s life, isn’t it? And if you call those downs ‘life lessons’ then it doesn’t sound that bad anymore.
This year I didn’t have any big plans for today, but I suspected that my husband would plan something special for me. And he did…
We will go to South Tirol in Italy for 3 days. We will be leaving tomorrow night and coming back on Sunday. We will stay in a vegan wellness hotel in the middle of a forest surrounded by majestic mountains. When I saw pictures of the hotel and its surroundings my heart skipped a beat. I am so excited! He knows that being in nature is what I love. This is the best birthday present I could wish for.
And of course, I was thinking about you too! There will be so many opportunities to take photos that I will love to share with you so stay tuned 😊

Thank you Dave! Oh yes, he is but what I didn't mention in this post is that he actually forgot about my birthday and had to put together a plan in a very short time :) He is not good with dates and for some reason my birthday wasn't moved into his new phone so he was just really lucky that my mom mentioned that at the end of last week, lol :D
lol... well many men focus on only one thing at a time and aren't good with remembering dates (me included)... so since he redeemed himself and took care of it on time, then I say he gets an A anyways! :)

We had a great time. Traveling there wasn't so easy as we crossed two mountain passes and I got sick but we survived :) It's a beautiful area and I am sure that you will like the photos..

Good morning (here) @delishtreats! I am sorry to hear you got sick (car sick?) crossing the mountains (the Alps?) into Italy. But glad to see you have survived. 😉 It will be nice to see your beloved's birthday present to you through "your eyes," as you have a very nice way of capturing your images.
Yes. That is part of "the story" in why we refer to them in this way. Sitting at the home of one of them near the Atlantic ocean, my Google maps said we were ~1,700 miles (~2,700 km) from our home (if driving, but we flew) ... And from our home to one of our "western" children much closer to the Pacific ocean, it is ~1,300 miles (~2,100 km). Makes Mom fussy (Dad too!) she can't see her children more often, but ... What are we to do? They have their own lives and have made their own choices accordingly ...
On this trip, in traveling between their homes, we visited here and were greatly impressed by it. While it was family time, I didn't take the pictures I normally would for a travel post. But, who knows, I may try to write a post about it and our visit here ...
P.S. Yes, I suppose there is some "mystery" about my ID, but ... Thank you for your forbearance and understanding ... I can assure you, there is a real person furiously typing away on my keybaord and clicking away on my mouse "over here" ... 😉

Thank you for your kind words dear Lena. Yes, I was indeed already in Italy. We left on Friday at 3 am and got there just before 8 am. It's so good to live in Switzerland. Everything is closeby :)
