White Dunce Cap Mushrooms
I've seen White Dunce Cap mushrooms along a few trails in my area but last month I had several pop up in my backyard.
You may also know them as White Conehead mushrooms but their scientific name is Conocybe Apala.
They are a small delicate mushroom that springs up in the early morning and die off by mid afternoon. They aren't edible and are considered toxic.
If you're up early though you can get some nice photos of them and even create some nice edits! 😉
Thank you @ewkaw for #fungifriday!! 🍄

Thank you @shasta!! That is my favorite edit too! 😊
What cool shots of them I haven't had much luck seeing any mushrooms as of yet and dont know the names of any of them LOL
Thank you so much Jay!! I don't know the names of very many either. I do have a kit for growing white button mushrooms but I'm the only one in my family who likes them so I've held off breaking it out. There is only so many mushrooms that one person can eat after all..lol! 😉
You were up early to make these photos. 😀
I love your edits.
Thank you @nelinoeva!! Yep, they are very short lived! 🙂
They look like little Chinaman hats ...they do look delicious to eat you would really get a head spin from them..lol :)
Thank you @hangin!! Lol..they do look like that now that you mention it! A head spin and a belly ache! 😮
I know those! They are so cute and tiny :)
Thank you @ewkaw!! It was a nice surprise to catch them before the afternoon took them away. I think they are cute too! 🙂
