Dead Followers? Following the Dead.
It was a time for a purge.
I just removed 90 people from my Follow list. Almost all had not made a post in the past 2 or more months.
Will it improve my feed? Probably not.
Will it keep me from finding other followers? Nope.
Will it keep me from reading good articles? Nope.
What was the point?
You know... I just like to keep things orderly sometimes.
I would really like to remove all the dead followers I have. The Dead Followers app says I still have 353 of them. That's up 23 since I wrote What if ALL of my Followers Upvoted My Article?, when there was only 330 dead followers.
I know that STEEMit can't remove users for being inactive. That would be like the bank closing your account without confirming that you are dead. Some of these dead followers who are Forever since last post have a good amount of SteemPOWER in their wallets. Look at EmSweet for example. Leaving 100 SP just sitting there doing nothing. But, then there are others like Lisa Mason, which seems like could have been a bot account that was never set in motion.
M'eh...oh well. It would be nice if they were purged. It would be nice if STEEMit was a little more human and real.
It would be nice if that SP would be put back into circulation, don't you think?
Or just eliminated. Less Steem POWER would be better.
Since it is Steem POWER, it shouldn't affect anything, except for giving up that share of the rewards to the active people.
Yea exactly i’d prefer it would be givin away but elimination is okay aswell

That's exactly what I was thinking a few days ago when checking my dead followers. For example, some of it could be delegated to those that deal with spam posts.

I didn't watch the videos and I created the logo either while it was going on or after the fact.
I know there are a few people who support me, but probably nobody of any consequence will say anything due to the Whale War that went on last year.

I agree, there is that possibility.
However, since I check other feeds, if I find an article that I enjoy and look at the author's other articles, I will most likely follow them. It would be like following them all over again.

I didn't realise we could remove people from our followers list, I like things neat and tidy too! After your previous post I was curious and maybe 20% of my followers were also dead accounts. Such a waste of SP...
From those we are following, not the other way around.
I know. Title is a little confusing.
I've just unfollowed most everyone. I'm hoping steemit gives a seperate tab for resteems as well because I've unfollowed a few people recently that create good content, but they resteem like 20 articles a day. I take pride in my small, but awesome feed and don't like the clutter.
I removed a couple that were resteemers and then a few that I just didn't want to follow anymore.
I read and don't often reply or upvote (I hate just having 10 good upvotes) so am not spending a load of time here anymore.
The upvote at just $0.01 or less doesn't seem like its worth it.
