2019 Jeep Gladiator

At the LA Autoshow, Jeep did a reveal of their new Jeep Gladiator mid-sized truck.
Yes, a truck.
Not an extended Wrangler, but a true truck!
In it's 5 foot steel bed it can carry a 1,600 pound payload and tow 7,650 pounds, which is more than my current Jeep Grand Cherokee. It comes with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and the VM 3-liter diesel V6 will be available later.
The truck gets all the bells and whistles that the Wrangler has; Command-Trav, Rock-Track, Dana 44 axles, electronic front and rear lockers, limited slip differential and a on the fly sway-bar disconnect.
The windshield folds down and the doors come off.
It comes in Sport, Overland and Rubicon models. The Rubicon gets front and rear locking differential, unique to the truck.
I need USD$35k now to quench my lust for this new Jeep.

I always did like jeep pickups. (it's NOT a truck)
but the last one I saw was made in the sixties.
Well, this isn't the Scrambler and it is more than the Comanche.
They also called it a "mid-sized truck", so terminology is owned by Jeep.
yeah...I remember when willys jeep was sold to AMC..then to Chrysler, (after chrysler went bankrupt...)...so that's about as much JEEP as...

I was a long haul trucker for 25 years. The media hated us (as did almost everyone else). One reason why the public hated us was that the media deceived them. I remember one headline
I clicked the headline to see what trucking company it was.
It was an S-10 pickup driven BY a student going to school. (daylight saving time..but that's another story).
That, and 25 years of other stuff like it, is why I take exception to calling a pickup a truck.
Can't argue that point.

Yes me too. sorry I mixed the dates up. I just read on the wallstreet journal fca starts selling this things as early as Q2 2019
Which makes more sense, since they already are rolling out test production models and the 3 they had on stage weren't concept vehicles.
