This post is mostly a Chinese translation of Vitalik Buterin's recent twitter, which I think carries a very timely wake up call for many professionals working in this promising blockchain industry. I will leave English readers to read it yourself in Vitalik's twitter and translate in the following so this message can reach a wider audience. Oh FYI I did not get a translation permission from him, so, Vitalik if you sees this post, I hope you don't mind. ^_^
今天我想分享（翻譯）一篇以太坊創辦人Vitalik Buterin上周的一篇推文。只有短短的幾句話，但我認為這裡面有很重要的訊息，值得大家深思。先來看看吧！
So total cryptocoin market cap just hit $0.5T today. But have we earned it? 接下來幾句自我詰問，我就引述文字不再截圖。 How many unbanked people have we banked? How much censorship-resistant commerce for the common people have we enabled? How many dapps have we created that have substantial usage? Low added value per user for using a blockchain is fine, but then you have to make up for it in volume. How much value is stored in smart contracts that actually do anything interesting? How many Venezuelans have actually been protected by us from hyperinflation? How much actual usage of micropayment channels is there actually in reality? 詰問之後，做出總結： The answer to all of these questions is definitely not zero, and in some cases it's quite significant. But not enough to say it's $0.5T levels of significant. Not enough.
我個人在台北看過Vitalik幾次，漸漸地也認識了他的許多豐功偉業。有人說他可能是中本聰這不知道是不是人的神之外，區塊鏈圈子裡，地位最高的人物了。此圈內的名人，有錢是一定的，但錢買不到很多東西。從這篇推文，以及一些先前的新聞等，我感覺Vitalik這年輕人確實是很不錯的，是有理想的，跟咱們的創世大神Dan Larimer也有類似的特質（Dan也有想創造一個個人完全自由的資本主義世界的理想）。
在區塊鏈這兩三年的風潮裡，現在算是一個歷史新高點吧！我感覺在華人圈內，大家討論的還是錢財、炒幣、爆富等發財面向的事情居多，領袖級人物，似乎真的看不到什麼有這種高度的人？如果我們都正在參與一段偉大的歷史，發財或者好聽一點叫財務自由，對於個人來說當然是無比重要，但領導者必須要能不在乎財富，領導眾人往前進才行（通常你不在乎了，財富也就自然來了）。 尤其是對於年紀輕的創業家們，Do something and change the world才是你們人生該有的氣魄啊！看看Vitalik的視野與胸懷，期待看到說中文的人當中也能夠出現這樣的領導者！（啊，話說V神他好像會說一點中文，哈哈，這不算啦！）
第一句話：
好，今日虛擬貨幣的總市值來到0.5兆美金了，但我們值得這個市值嗎？
世界上那麼多沒有金融服務管道的人們，我們已經幫到了多少個？
我們為一般民眾促成了多少免於受到權力操縱的商業的發展？
我們創造了多少廣受使用的分散式應用？使用區塊鏈創造的人均價值低沒有問題，但得要衝高使用量來彌補之。
現在有多少價值是儲存在真的能有效應用的智慧合約裡？
有多少委內瑞拉人民真的因為有我們的存在，而能夠免於遭受惡性通膨之苦？

現實生活裡，真的已經存在多少微支付的管道可以使用？
以上這些問題的答案當然不都是零，甚至在某些應用裡還真的蠻有成績的。但，無論如何，這些成績，都還無法對應這0.5兆美元的總市值。還遠遠不夠。
最後，再給你們看一個韓國人在說韓國人都在區塊鏈裡淘金他對世界感到很慚愧云云（咦？），Vitalik回應說「不要抱歉，幫忙一起教育大眾，改變世界吧！」

精神雷同！但我講究一些的話，第二句改成Ask what you can do with blockchain可能是更貼切的，因為blockchain畢竟是手段，不是主體。^_^
I think that in time people will stop riding the prices of cryptocurrencies and start looking into what they actually do. For now, its still a shock to most people and everyone is buying and trying to reap the profits. But when we get more accustumed to them,then the focus will shift to how crypto can benefit us and make our everyday life better and easier.
That said, I think the market needs a corrrection for it to be taken seriously. Maybe then more people will start reading the whitepaper and not just the price on coinmarket cap.

I agree with Vitalik here. Speculation drives crypto markets, not fundamentals.
of course it is hard to really have concrete fundamentals at this stage, but people cannot use it as an excuse not looking for it! ^^

个人一点愚见：区块链确实展现了非常广阔的前景，但现在缺乏真正应用支撑。目测有可能重走当年.com的路：2000年泡沫爆破，2011年开始井喷式发展，2016正式超过之前顶峰。
