Dropbox S-1 shows clear outperformance v. BOX
Awesome article from Tomasz Tunguz here: source
I've been a Box investor for about 2 years. I see their offering as very enterprise friendly and I've used it in conjunction with major firms such as Goldman Sachs and McKinsey & Co. Their offering is of good quality, and of reasonable price. If my company didn't use Microsoft all over (which has great OneDrive integration), I would certainly add on Box.
However, Dropbox, who plans to IPO shortly, has demonstrated that their route of staying private while growing, and using retail to drive enterprise adoption has enabled them to outperform Box.
Check out their superior: Gross Margin, Net Income Margin, Free Cashflow from Ops, AND Sales Efficiency! (full credit to Tomasz linked above for the chart and original analysis.)
I'll need to see where pricing lands, but I am strongly considering exiting my BOX position and closely monitoring the Dropbox IPO.
Which do you think will outperform?
