Kenrokuen Garden.

Is rated as one of the 3 most beautiful gardens in Japan, it covers over 30 acres and borders Kanazawa Castle. Translated 'Kenrokuen' means "a garden that combines the 6 aspects of a perfect garden."
The garden was once the property and private garden, of the feudal lord who controlled the region from Kanazawa Castle, it was opened to the public in the 1870's.

KANAZAWA CASTLE.

Built by the Maeda family around 1600, they ruled the local area for around 280 years. The Castle has been built and rebuilt over hundreds of years and was recently partially restored. The Castle is surrounded by moats and has many defensive systems built into its walls and design. The main Castle was destroyed by fire and has not been rebuilt, though many of its walls and Defensive features have been restored.

Ishikawamon Gate
Was rebuilt in around 1750 and it is regarded as an important cultural asset.

We found a little back street restaurant, and enjoyed some really amazing and fresh Sashimi and Sushi.
