Okay Alone!

_{I'm okay alone.
I'm fine by myself
I don't need anybody
I'm a nomad, an introvert
I don't need human relations.}

_{The things I say
A facade to hide under
A pretentiousness on my part
Which cannot hold water
But would come crumbling down
The minute you hold it under a microscope.}

_{I lie not because I want to
Not because I find pleasure in it
But it's cause as the saying goes
Fool me once shame on you but fool me twice
Then it's shame on me, because I didn't learn.}

_{That's a situation I want no part of
And so I built up these walls
And barricaded myself from everyone
I am safe, so long as I remain behind these walls
I can't get hurt, I won't get hurt.}

I've been hurt before
And now I've learnt my lesson
As is expected of the wise
And as a sage, my wisdom is put to use.}

_{Sometimes I want to leave
I long to see beyond these walls
I want to feel the touch of skin
The taste of someone else's lips
But these are just fantasies.}

_{I know better
Those feelings only seek to deceive
Its nothing but a mirage, a sick joke
That's what feelings are to me
Nothing but a waste of time.}

The one I just met, I say sorry
I'm sorry I didn't meet you sooner
At a time where I believed
Believed in feelings and humanity.}

_{A time that I was naive
We could have had something
Who knows, it might have been special
You just might have been the one
But life is always cruel in its dealings.}

_{So I say sorry
Sorry I cannot give you what you seek
For the me that could is no more
And so I say goodbye, don't wait for me
For there's no heart in me to love.}
