Social Studies Lesson: Problems of Modern Transportation

My appreciation goes to our beloved tutor, @udyliciouz, for shedding some light on the problems our modern way of transportation is facing. Many people believe that since it's modern, it does not face any problems. The more technology continues to evolve, the more tactical problems continue to surface.

In our previous class, we discussed transportation, types of transportation, and different forms of modern transportation. In today's class, we will be looking at the problems that modern forms of transportation are facing.

Transportation plays a vital role in human life; without transportation, a lot of things humans enjoy today wouldn't have been possible.

• Distribution of goods and Services: This is one major role transportation plays; we all know it is through transportation that the goods and services we need get to us. Without transportation, we will be lacking a lot.

• Movement Of People: We have different reasons why we must move from one place to another, sometimes for business and sometimes for checkups. Without the help of transportation, this won't be possible; transportation helps us to move from one place to another.

• Helps The Economic System Of A Country: It's no news that without transportation, the economic system of a country will crash to zero. It is through transportation that imports and exports are carried; without it, a country will just have its raw materials to itself and won't be able to sell them, nor will it be able to get goods it cannot produce from another country.

The modern form of transportation is affected by a lot of things, which will be discussed in the paragraphs below:

• High Cost Of Maintenance: The modern forms of transportation are very expensive to maintain; the cost of diesel or gasoline and repairs when needed is really something not everyone can afford.

• Inadequate Spare Parts: We also suffer from the unavailability of spare parts; without these spare parts, that particular train, motorcycle, or vehicle is automatically condemned.

• Incompetent Maintenance Facilities: Not every country can afford to provide a maintenance facility competent enough for the maintenance of these machines.

• An Experienced Personnel: Not everyone has the idea of how to pilot a plane; therefore, an experienced professional is needed. Without one, the plane won't move.

• Government Support: Not everyone who owns a vehicle is capable of affording the maintenance; the government should support or help reduce the cost of materials needed to maintain their vehicle.

• Provision Of Adequate Spare Parts: The importation of needed spare parts by those involved will go a long way. When spare parts are available, there's no need to condemn a machine.
