Ulog #212: Why do Burgers always come with sides?

Have you ever wondered why do burgers always come with sides? I suppose it's because it makes it look like a full meal or a burger alone just doesn't fill the tummy up enough.

At my food truck we always have burgers with sides. We put in lotsa effort in either sourcing for good frozen sides like onion rings and fries, or we do them ourselves.

I think my food truck menu has as much sides as there are burgers on it. That's because we love to pair good sides with each burger and it seems like the effort is really appreciated among our regulars and fans.

Here are some of the sides that I've done so far this year:

Onion Rings

Crispy on the outside and sweet inside. Someone from America once said that these are the best onion rings she has ever eaten in her life. Go figure XD

Smiley Fries

These smileys are really realy good. I think they are my favorite version of fries. It's super soft on the inside like mash potatoes and crispy on the outside. The size also makes it super awesome coz it gives you a super nice mouth feel with each smiley.

Curly Fries

Crispy and a little spiced on the outside. Extremely delicious and second to the smiley fries in my books.

Sweet, Sour & Spicy Wings

Super tender and fall of the bone at the same time crispy on the outside and slathered with spicy, sweet and tangy sauce. This is definitely a must order if you ever come by the truck.

Mushroom Fries

This is a fan favorite and our own invention - Mushroom Fries aka Crispy Mushroom. It's a top seller and a fan favorite here at the food truck. It's basically our trademark and people know us by this side dish. Some even eat this as their main. That's how good it is.

Super crispy on the outside and soft and juicy mushroom goodness on the inside. The taste of perfection!

Patatas Bravas

A Spanish dish that has gotten people mad over how delicious it is. Butter fried on the flat top till you get crispy almost burnt edges and extremely creamy and fluffy on the inside topped with our signature spicy garlic aioli.

Haven't done this in awhile but it'll definitely make a comeback sooner or later. Demand and anticipation for this is high!

I have done specials as well like buttered mash, pickled vegetables, kimchi, Asian sesame slaw, etc. But that'll I'll save for another post in the future.
