From Russia With Love
Last time I visited Shanghai we did something I called Speed sightseeing. Instead of taking the subway from the train station into the city I choose to go by taxi. I was jumping from one side to the other in the back seat to snap as many photos as I could. Not so easy to take photos from a moving vehicle.
In this photo I captured what is called the Shanghai Exhibition centre that is erected in the center of Shanghai and it was actually built in commemoration of the China and sino-soviet friendship. The original name is the sino-Soviet Friendship Building.
The design draws heavily on Russian and Empire style neoclassical architecture and it is quite a marvel amidst the otherwise very modern city skape of Shanghai.

Very beautiful building. Very Russian Aura, You are right. , A neoclassical Russian style. Petersburg Russia came to my mind :)
It's cool because shanghai has a lot of this mix of architecture, there even used to be a small area in Shanghai called little Moscow, where the Russian population lived. This was around a hundred years ago though

Oh, yeah, the shot certainly has a very soviet feel to it, but I guess you could see a bit of China too. It looks even more soviet with the cookie-cutter apartment buildings behind it.
