Weekly CRICKET Review - XXXIII | Is there anyone still enjoying Cricket?

How's everything going folks? Well, I know it's been a silent two months. But I hope Cricket enthusiasts are still catching it and loving the game. You already know that I was sharing a weekly wrap-up of the things that are going on within the Cricket community.

So, let's continue that again as the field is getting electrified and unpredictable just before the ODI World Cup 2023.

ASIA CUP 2023

• Amidst a number of dramas, the Asia Cup is ongoing from the 30th of August 2023, with 06 teams (Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal). The matches are played in both Sri Lanka and Pakistan as India refused to play in Pakistan in the first place.

• The six teams were divided into two groups, and the status was as below after the 06 matches and the top 04 were selected for the SUPER 04 s.

• Well, I think SL fans are still haunted by what happened with India yesterday. It was a close one for us and could have easily done it if there had been a bit of patience. It marked the end of Sri Lanka's 13-match winning streak in ODIs. Anyway the Sri Lankan young sensation, Wellalage was the show of the match. He took his first fifer and 40+ runs keeping the hopes alive.

• The India vs. Pakistan match was a bummer. While India scored 350+ runs, Pak was all out for just 128. So, the news is that India is already into the final and Ban is out. Tomorrow's match between Pak and SL will be the decider.

England vs New Zealand T20I & ODI Series

• There's an intense series between these two teams. The 4-match T20I series ended up in a tie. Bairstow became the MoS. Um not go into details, as it's already weeks ago. Currently, 3rd ODI out of 04 matches is played, after the NZ and ENG won the first two matches respectively.

• Eng has made a mammoth total of 361 runs in the 3rd match, with the unbelievable inning of Stokes 182 off 124 balls, (5 fours and 9 sixes), the highest individual score for England.

South Africa vs Australia T20I & ODI Series

• Well, it was a difficult T20 series for the Porteas. Even though they have good players throughout, I feel something is lacking, even from the great Smith era. Anyway, Aussies whitewashed in the 3 matches, under the captaincy of Mitchel Marsh.

• The first 2 matches of the 5-match ODI series were dominated once again by the Aussies. Anyway, SA could stay in the game by winning the third one comprehensively. Let's wait for great two games ahead.

• The SLW team, created history by defeating EngW for the first time in a series as 2-1, in the T20 series. The Wonder Woman, Chamari Athapaththu, shined once again becoming the MoS.
