Weekly CRICKET Review - IV | The Festival has started
So, how are you, my friends? I know you can't be more thrilled with starting of the T20 World Cup, 2022. Already, the signs of a great tournaments can be seen. The weather is a little bit of concern already. Because already a few matches were disturbed. Anyhow, there is a great atmosphere and enthusiasm in the from the fans.
So, let's wrap up the highlights of the last week. You can read my earlier article from here, Quick review - III.
- Pakistan won the T20I Tri-Series 2022
It's the Tri series between Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh. And it was the last series before the world cup. As I shared in the last week, Bangladesh couldn't win a signal match. PAK and NZ met at the final on 14th of October. Both the teams have equally good batting and bowling line-ups.

New Zealand could score 163 runs in their 20 overs, and it was comfortably chased by PAK with 5 wickets in the hand. Mohammad Nawaz was the man of the match and player of the series was Michael Bracewell.
- Sri Lanka and Netherland are through to the SUPER 12 from Group A
Well, the group matches of T20 world cup started on October 16. Out of 8 teams in 2 groups, 4 teams can selected to the next round.
The series started with a memorable win for Namibia against Sri Lanka. For the target of 163 set by Namibia, Sri Lanka could only score 108 runs. After winning the Asia Cup this was never expected from SL, but anyhow it was a great performance from Namibia.
But anyhow Sri Lanka come back strongly and through to the Super 12 as table toppers. Netherland could won against UAE and Namibia and confirmed their spot.

UAE leg spinner Meiyappan could pick up a Hattrick, fifth player in T20 world cups, against Sri Lanka.
It's hilarious that, Nambia defeated Sri Lanka, but lost to Netherlands. But Netherlands lost to Sri Lanka. While UAE won against Namibia. Like a circle.😅😅
- All 4 teams are open to go through in Group B
Well, the situation is different in Group B. All 4 teams, West Indies, Scotland, Zimbabwe, and Ireland have won one match each and tomorrow there will be 2 knockouts.
Scotland pulled out a another memorable win against WI. All 4 teams showed some brilliant cricket with highlighted personal efforts as well. George Munsey against WI, Sikandar Raza, one of my favorites, against Ireland, Curtis Campher and Michael Jones in the matched between Ireland and Scotland played some brilliant knocks .And Alzarri Joseph picked up 4 for 16 against Zimbabwe.

- Injury Concerns
Well, there were few major players missing out the World cup due to injuries before the start. And a few other players also, ruled out due to injuries. Especially now Sri Lanka has a whole ne pace attack.
Country | Ruled out players due to injuries |
---|---|
Sr Lanka | Dilshan Madhushanka, Dushmantha Chameera, Dhanishke Gunathilaka |

South Africa | Rassi Van Der Dussen, Pretorius |

A whole new team can be made from this group that can challenge any team. Anyway, wishing for their speedy recovery and hope there will be no any bad news.
