The King of Football | RIP Legendary PELE
The greatest football player of all time, the one who embraces the true beauty of the game, the magician, Pele ended his life journey yesterday, on 29/12/2022. He was crowned as the athlete of the century by the International Olympic Committee in 1999. His legacy and the impact on Football and on Brazillian people will be remembered forever.

For the first time, I read about him when I was 10/12 years old in Wijaya and Muthuhara newspapers. In Sri Lanka, Football is not a very popular sport. But, even though without seeing him playing I had respect for this man. Then at the university, I watched his movie, 'Pele, Birth of a Legend (2016). So, no doubt, he is the king!
'Pelé, whose full name is Edson Arantes do Nascimento, is a Brazilian soccer player. He was born in 1940 in the city of Tres Coracoes. He came from a very poor family. His father was a professional football player, but after an accident, he had to clean toilets to feed the family with three children. Pele used to play football with his friends in the village and had to face serious financial hardships. But his passion and style were extraordinary.
Pelé began his professional career at the age of 15 with Santos FC and quickly rose to fame for his exceptional skills on the field. The Brazillian unique Samba Style was a god's gift to him. He improvised it with the game to lift the Brazil team to the high in the world of Football.
He was the main part of the Brazillian Football team to lift 1958, 1962, and 1970 World Champions. The only player to win it 03 times. He has a record of 1300+ carrier goals and is the highest international goal scorer for Brazil (77). Pelé's legacy extends beyond soccer. He is a cultural icon in Brazil and around the world, and his influence has been felt in many different areas, from fashion and music to politics and philanthropy. He is considered a national treasurer in Brazil.
So, Rest in peace Legend. Your name will be remembered forever in the hearts of every Football fan and will be written in gold in the history books!

Gracias, disfruté mucho el documental. 3 cosas muy ciertas y resaltantes:
1.- No existían redes sociales ni la tecnología que tenemos hoy en día, aún así logró una fama internacional.
2.- ¿Lloras por que perdimos la copa? la traeré para ti!. Hacer una promesa es fácil, el problema es cumplirla y más cuando juegas en equipo, es decir no depende solo de ti sino de tus compañeros y rivales. Aun así lo cumplió y eso es de admirar.
3.- La mayoría de las estrellas de hoy aman más el dinero que el futbol.
Sin duda tuvimos el privilegio de vivir en el tiempo que esta estrella estuvo entre los hombres. Llegó su hora de brillar en el cielo pero nos quedamos con esos momentos mágicos que le regaló al futbol.

Ofcourse, he is the first global superstar in Football. An icon, in the world. His name always comes along with Football. It's unbelievable that a man can have such kind of love and fame across the world. He put Brazil on the map and a role model for every Football player afterwards.
