75th Independence Day | Where are we as a nation?

These days I familiarize myself a bit more with my villagers, yeah a small village with innocent people, with a less than average development. From one end I hear the struggle faced in the Agricultural field by farmers, parents are in a difficult situation to provide neccssrary facilities to school children, Students facing A/L exams have to study in the darkness for 2-3 hours, elders thinking the method of putting 3 meals on their table, hospitals are gradually losing their supplies and many more.

But still we are a nation that wants to spend millions of money to celebrate the Independence days just for a show-off. Well, not for the community,but for the rulers. Don't we prooud of the Independence day! Ofcourse we are! But did we really need this kind of money waste at this kind of critical situation?

Do you know what's the funny thing is? Mr. President says that if we didn't celebrate the Independence day, the world will know that we don't have money. We are a default country, man. There is nothing to hide now. We, normal people use fuel on quota, but you guys can use the military vehicles and everything to celebrate this day. 3/4 days of rehearsing even from helicopters. But you can't provide 24*7 electricity even during this A/L exam season. What are going to prove internationally?

And in the Independence day, court order has been issued, preventing people from going to Galle Face. What kind of freedom is that? It's been 75 years and we are developing country and gradually going further down. Most of the guys in the parliament have more than 30 years service in the paliamanet governing or opposition, but still keep saying you are developing this. I don't know whether they have a small amount of shame or conscience.

Just taking overnight decisions that lead to critical consequences, and no proper plan for this crisis, still no law for corruptions and usually giving the weight more and more on the community.

Anyway, I don't know where this is going on. Praying for not to happen or manipulate any violation. The only hope we have is from the upcoming election to make something different. Still, people are in a doubtful situation on which team to trust. For sure, there are more hard days to come. But still, in a positive mindset that we can overcome this challenge as well at least within a couple more years!! Waiting for better days!!
