Feed a family for $35 - $100 per week? Melanie is a homesteader, wife and mother. She is also amazing at saving money for her family by following these 10 guidelines.

  1. Buy in bulk - Melanie stocks up!
  2. Buy direct from local growers!
  3. Meal plan! If there is no plan you spend way too much.
  4. Eat from your pantry. You saved it, now eat it.
  5. Cook from scratch - including snacks. No more pre-packaged junk.
  6. Grow a garden. Yes get out there!
  7. Can, dehydrate and freeze excess produce - PRESERVE THE HARVEST!
  8. Glean and barter for fruits and veggies you aren’t growing
  9. Make your own flour and pancake mixes. Pre-mixed goods are expensive.
  10. Make your own personal care and cleaning products.

Not only is Melanie good at all that. She struggles with physical issues that put her on a special diet. She has learned to adapt to these needs and continue to feed her family very inexpensively focused on good nutrition. Melanie also has a very pleasant personality that she shares on her YouTube Channel called Road To The Farm.

I love her videos on Youtube, a very down to earth person.

She really is :)

Meal plan! If there is no plan you spend way too much.

That probably should be #1.
Regardless of your income, getting that under control is a top priority. Food is usually the highest budget cost, after housing. The easiest way to improve the budget is to determine how you are spending money on food and then figuring out how to save money buying the food you need.

Found one I missed upvoted and resteemit!

thanks for her link :)
