Newbie Tips For Maximizing Comment Returns With Three Piggybacking Services 💪

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

When starting out on Steem/Steemit/DTube/Partiko or any of the other various portals, engagement of others works is very important to help build your social network.

Without first making the connections with authors on the chain it is most likely your posts will be overlooked, lost in the sea of minnows and plankton.

Learn How To Comment

First of all when trying to build that network through commenting and engaging people it is expected that you leave personal or at least thoughtful comments, actually engage them!

It feels ridiculous to me needing to explain this but I want to be certain you understand! We must first realize what to do and what not to do when using services to promote our engagement while also maximizing returns. Otherwise you very well may get yourself into some hot water with either the services or various Steem abuse projects.

The Do Not’s:

  • Do not make spam comments of the same or nearly same thing on multiple posts. Things like “Nice Post, Upvoted & Resteemed” should not be considered a good comment to leave!
  • The comment should have something to do with the post, add further ideas/insights or elaborate on the content of post. Authors want to know you have consumed their creations otherwise they would not be publishing them.
  • Do not leave links asking for votes, many will send their vote upside down!
  • Do not leave multiple comments on one post, try get it right the first time or edit your previous if you forgot something.
  • Do not vote your own comments!!!

The Do’s:

  • Do get the authors attention with a mention for statements directed at them.
  • Do be precise and clear in what message you wish to convey, if your not a native English speaker take the extra moment and check grammar not just spelling.
  • Do comment on others comments engage not only the author but the authors following, it’s not just conversations between the author and one user and many users will appreciate being acknowledged!
  • Be Personal, the more you share of yourself the more others will feel inclined to share also which builds that relationship. Also they will be more inclined to look into what you are doing.

Now that is covered you must understand I have a comment minimum for what I consider a “good” comment. First of all it is speaking to me in some way or mentioning someone else to view what I have created. The comment is relevant to the post that the comment is left on. Has a minimum of 13 words, doesn’t seem like much but many do not meet this criteria. Has not self voted their comment as your VP should be used to support others and improve your network. Is well written and worded and I can clearly understand the point trying to be made even if grammar is terrible.

The Three Services I Use

I have started using three different services in tandem for votes on my comments raising visibility while also increasing returns. Returns come in the form of account reputation which also helps how your account is viewed by other and the obvious Steem from the upvotes.

Terms That Need To Be Understood

Dust - lost rewards due to not meeting minimum payout.
Scrapping - receiving a vote on day 5-6 just for the sake of receiving the payout from a comment.
Minimum Payout - $0.022 anything below will not be paid!

@DustBunny

This is a “free” or by donation dust scrapping service and as the name implies they scrap dust that would be lost via not reaching payout minimum. They operate from a manual account verification system and do ask for a small donation of SP to help ensure your comments make it into queue but not mandatory. Self comment votes need not bother applying and this service is at a complete profit with only cost being a small no risk delegation.

Please refer to their blog and or discord for further information, do your due diligence and understand the rules for participating and criteria required.

@DustSweeper

This is a “paiddust scrapping service like the one above with the only difference being you must load your account by sending Steem to receive the scraping of dust. The profit from this service comes from the scraped rewards that would have been lost due to being below the minimum payout. I am not certain if votes come at a profit or simply just break even.

Fairly straight forward just send some Steem to them and you will receive votes on your comments at the 5-6 day window to help break payout minimums.

As always do your own research and understand what it is your getting involved with including rules for use of the service check their blog and or discord for further information.

@MinnowBooster

This is a “paidvoting service, I use the comment votes which roll in after the 15 min curation window. This helps to gain visibility raising your comment up the list while also being at a small profit.

Using this service in tandem with the dust scrapping services is very beneficial ensuring you receive complete payout from any dusty votes you may receive.

Goto their webpage minnowbooster.net and you may load your account with them right from site. Once signed in and loaded the comment options can be found at the bottom of the edit info screen.

Be certain to read and fully understand the rules for use of this service as privileges may be taken away for use on spam comments.

How I Do It!

My plan was to see if I could use @MinnowBooster to trigger a .01 SBD upvote and have those backed up by @DustSweeper and @DustBunny. I decided to piggyback the dust scraping services to ensure my .01 SBD paid votes do not goto waist.

  • Step One get verified with @dustbunny, never have to think about it again!

  • Step Two load @dustsweeper with Steem, starting with 1 Steem is sufficient to test and you will be notified when running low via comments.

  • Step Three load @minnowbooster with SBD and turn on comment voting. I use 0.01 SBD auto promotion on all comments.

  • Step Four comment comment comment

That’s It Your Done

Now we wait for those votes to roll in!

The returns you will see are very small but do add up quick and for a newer account the real benefit is the added rep and visibility from votes on your comments.

That’s it, simple and easy, pretty well set and forget, just have remember to check your @minnowbooster balance now and again 💪

PS I am in recharge mode testing the trails I am apart of so my comment votes are at 1% only. You could go set yourself up with the dust scrapping service then come back and leave a comment, I will vote you, after 5 days you can see how the dust scrapers work out 💪

I love the Partiko Mobile App for two simple reasons, function and appeal. It works as it should with speed and looks great while adding its own level of gamification to interaction through in-app points collection plus redemptions for perks.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful content!

I myself need to simplify our Twitter Hustle, So people actually engage on our Blockchain rather than on Twitter.

People are spending way too much time on Discord and upvoting bots are killing organic engagement and interactions

When I see 870 upvotes and Zero comments, we have a fundamental problem we need to fix

Sorry for speaking my mind

Very little is organic about Steem it seems... I thought I was building a following but sadly have found out since kpine has disappeared so has my following 😞 I spent 1 week or so not boosting to discover I have about 5 accounts that organically engage with me...

This post is the kicker, after a week of no boosts I boosted this one to suck them in let’s see how many still swing by with zero engagement on a post about how to comment better.

Several layers to this one, a lesson, a test, a warning.

I couldn't agree more with you on the above statements. However, I've been thinking on the possibilities of creating a Steem based chat app like Discord. We have a lot of tech guys here on the Steem blockchain. They can get us something like discord since discord seems more appealing to many people than Steem.chat

We need something mobile to integrate an open ended chat system!

Like partiko messaging but with open API, on top of that the group rooms would be a huge bonus.

We need our chat how ever implemented to integrate across all dapps! I put big emphasis on mobile as this is where the largest user base and promotion will come from.

The world is ever moving, hence something Mobile will really be cool. I wish I knew how to code most times. Many crazy ideas pop up my "empty skull" ones in a while 😂.

I miss Kpine too, he really helped my life and that of many people around me.

I hear you I wish I knew something to do with coding yet I’m not certain I would enjoy the trouble shooting with developing new technologies. I can do webpages and I have even dabbled in .js and python but only repurposing already written code. Compiling a completely new .ja from scratch then the hours of testing required.... no thanks 😅

I still never did manage to connect with anyone behind that kpine account, even his wife disappeared from Steem. His support left as mysteriously as it came but it worked out to a pretty handsome stack of SP by the end. Curious if anyone knows anything further then the delegation from the account was pulled?

Resteemed! Every one if us should learn these Do's and Don'ts... Very very important in our Steem journey.

I am using both Dustbunny and DustSweeper... But am not using minnowbooster.

And I haven't been engaging with a lot of people lately... Should put this into my goal...

I agree though right now I am finding engagement is so low I am appreciating any comments I get!

I suggest you check out minnow booster and use it as a service to trigger the dust sweepers.

As for me engaging people, I’ve noticed it makes no difference in who engages me unless I boost the post into trending 🤦‍♂️

Solid good stuff right here. I am coming up on two months on steemit and comments of quality are some of the most rewarding places to spend your time.

Posted using Partiko Android

That they are, people don’t always understand the effects of installing intentions or energy into something.

All of my best Steem ideas come through comments in one way or another! Great example is #OneLoveDTube my idea was smash the two tags #OneLove #DTube at the bottom of a friend’s comment into one. Then me and that friend @dnews founded the community together which now has run away on its own like any good community should!

So you have only been here two months and your already almost 70 rep? Wow that’s impressive, took me a year of solid posting!

Thanks for stopping in 💪

@johnhtims comments though deleted still show on @Partiko notifications in full!

What’s the point of taking the time to write out such a long comment only in the end to delete it? Technically that’s two wasted transactions on the steem blockchain adding to the wasted resources of our witnesses and node’s.

As for the dust threshold I would say that is relevant to the smallest used integer of our token and the insurance of curation rewards on minimum payouts.

Very good idea and things you have metion here for new steemian .

When i was join STEEM no onw was there to teach me all this stuff.

I learn what i understand and actually due to this it waste my so much time to learn so much cool stuff on Steem.

Really helping me as well and newbie od STEEM .

That is precisely what I’m trying to eliminate the confusion of what to do when first landing.

It seems as if things are broken right now and many of the most promising creators landing here are being bombarded by promotions and welcome messages only to be left in the dark from there on out!

At times I think how depressing it is to join steem. No way you can build great connections if you have less SP or need to pay to stay in touch with people who do not care.

Well I share this one and save it as well.

Posted using Partiko Android

Yea it seems people get caught in the value of their efforts, imagine if the value is Steem was displayed not the fiat value! I speculate the psychological effects of the bear market would be minimized 🤞

Why do we show the fait value anyways, it’s constantly fluctuating and extremely misleading!
