SBD Payouts, What Should We Be Doing With Them? - D00k13 Digest #223
What up my Steemians, welcome to the @D00k13 Digest, I realized this morning looking at my wallet we are now receiving SBD payouts and it has me thinking about what is best to do with them for the future success of the platform. Just a quick question for you guys, what do you think is the best thing to do with your Steem Backed Dollars right now? Why?

great question man. i mean i’m much more of a fan of steem only. sbd is attractive to the people that play markets and wanna hedge their bets because it’s supposed to be 1:1. but alas. that doesn’t always seem to be the case
people a lot smarter than me will debate what’s best to do. i just collect it all and use it to buy services and products in the ecosystem
it’s a confusing currency though. steem and steem power would be much easier for the regular joe to understand and use daily.

I agree, straight Steem and SP would make it a lot easier to understand and may actually help with volatility as the way I understand it SBD is essentially debt of Steem.
I am more for Steem also, have been thinking of burning the SBD with the hidden convert feature still need to look up if it’s at a better rate then normal exchange though. After I receive the Steem I’d be using it for services and boosting as usual.... I just like the idea of getting rid of any debt first I guess.

I convert mostly via boosting at a profit while gaining visibility on my works, constant boosting also ensures rewards for my curators and those whom trail me.

If you do not need liquid SBD/Steem right now you can just power up all your post rewards 100% at time of payout, simply by flipping this switch 😉No conversions to worry about, nor worry about what to do with liquid payouts.
But don't do it if SBD price is way above $1.
Yup that works if you do not require the liquid payouts 😉
I do though but still wonder about the hidden SBD convert feature, burn that SBD and help the debt as some call it.

I share the same ideas of steemians to convert your steem back dollar to steem then power up. We shall have the uptrend of steem price continuing for few more week. I think SDB is giving us a real opportunity to support steem based dapps that we use and love to see survive this bear market.

Steam may have risen to $10 Canadian but steam dollars were $18 Canadian, my bet is that steam dollars will have a very bright future. They also have a much smaller Supply and are not well-known. I think that their use with future features will make them a hot commodity

I personally view SBD as debt of Steem, meaning it is essentially valueless without Steem as it is essentially like a loan for creators to be paid with. You may be right but only if the developers do not fix the $1 pegging mechanisms as when Steem rises SBD should stay at $1 but we have yet to see it work correctly either!

Hey Brother @d00k13. I am not sure what to do. I am not to familiar with how the markets work. Whether #steem will rise or fall, I Truly have no idea. Having said that, with all the rumors and chatter going on around the platform, I am choosing to HODL all of my coins both #sbd and #steem until I can get a clear picture of what is happening. I have been wondering about the burning of SBD for Steem, taking that SBD out of circulation for the sake of lowering debt. Burning was at a profit compared to exchange for a while there, need to do some research to know about now though.
Hodling liquid is definitely a smart move not knowing which way to go, either that or just power it up and keep it invested making use of the power 💪

While as a matter of fact the market is indeed behaving strangely (most of the coin price are down but Steem & SBD are up well that is good to see by the way lol) and come to think of it you are doing right from your perspective while if something good happens for the price of Steem in the long run this could be a nice time to convert them into Steem though. In other words saving hahaha or conevrt them to Steem and Powerup for having more stake with the low price of Steem right now : )

I tend to convert straight to power by boosting a 100% power up post if I am really wanting to make the most power, typically powering up at a profit while also getting the visibility and ensuring my curators get paid.
Today I’m thinking more about what would be best for the platform rather then what would be best for my wallet, I think burning the SBD for Steem may be the best for the platform helping to alleviate some of the SBD debt while I’m at it.

Tricky question but I am with you when it comes to getting more visibility.
Also, I think that it would be a good idea to power up, but some of it I just put on an exchange, and convert it to BTC or USDT and wait for a good trade so that I can get more...
Furthermore, I am buying up some SteemMonster cards in case it will go down again.. etc. Well, there are a lot of things that you can do with it I guess...
Yea it can be a hard one to answer as the state of exchanges constantly changes. I usually just keep boosting with what ever I am paid out really makes no difference to me in that regard. I’m all about coin count, so when I have the opportunity to boost at a profit with 50% being powered up I definitely take it!
As for exchanges, I stay away from them completely! If I cannot purchase in Steem then the service or whatever is of no use to me 😅
I was thinking more with this post what is best for the platform and less about my wallet, thinking down the lines is it still beneficial for Steem to burn the SBD with the hidden convert feature?

Yesterday I was thinking about this changing: it is an important one because from July we have received only Steem or SP. Looking at my rewards I see that SBD are less Steem if I convert immediatly them, so I have decided to select a 100% power-up at the moment of posting my articles for the reward. I want to tell you that my intentions are to have 5K SP before the beginning of the new year, so this is the reason of my choice.

Yea DTube works from curation of content, quality of video or message is everything for them. I don’t think anyone gets the benefit of regular votes without being at the whim of curation myself included, I just like to create videos so no matter what I keep doing it. you could always try asking but I doubt you will get a desirable answer, they don’t play favourites.
I was thinking do a video about the Partiko Lottery actually, I have a way of getting eyes on a subject 😉 maybe I could do a reading of my entry 🤔 I will see how it goes 😆
