Leaving Our Home Town Heading To SaltSpring Island To Visit Friends

Another day of travel and we choose to take as much of the scenic route as possible, didn’t stop in to many places we wanted to make our destination! SaltSpring Island home of our best friends Chelsea and Forest with their 6 kids.

We stopped in Whiskey Creek, myself for a coffee but Mel decided to get ice cream. You need to stop at this CO-OP gas station if you think that you have tried every flavour of ice cream!

Mel shared her cone with Jerry, such a lucky dog getting licks twice so I could record it the second time.

Jerry rides shotgun pretty often, just have to tell him “lock and load” and he will get into this position. This way he is secure, comfortable and out of the way.

We stopped quickly in Nanaimo to grab new shoes since I had wrecked mine at the river the first day then headed to Crofton to make the ferry.

Jerry is such a scavenger always finding something at the water front to eat, we used to worry about it but not so much anymore. We do pay attention to be aware if he is trying to swallow a bone or something, we have had to fish one out of his throat once already.

Jerry gets so excited when we pull off the ferry on SSI he starts whining and chattering, he tries to be quite but the anticipation of seeing the rest of his pack is just to much. He will ride the whole way sniffing with his head out the window. Usually Jerry will not keep his head out faster then about 30 km/h, I think the wind bothers his ears.

Daisy is Jerry’s best friends they get along so well, she is the real reason Jerry is so excited. Always a ton of wiggles and excitement when they see each other, they run around and play pretty rough non stop.

Drummond Park

We hung out at the lake for about an hour with Chelsea, Forest and the kids then headed back to their place for Pizza. Having traveled all day still feeling pretty bleached from the prior days tubing adventures, I called it an early night!
