Taking It Slow At Esquimalt Gorge Park / Jerry Has A Limp - D00k13 Digest #368
What up my Steemians, welcome to the @D00k13 Digest, having noticed Jerry limping today I have realized I think maybe I over did all my @actifit steppin' for his sake. Taking it a slower again as the doctor(vet) requested for this next week, Jerry is not allowed to run till we get him in for a checkup the end of next week. Do you ever feel bad for your furbaby? I do, I am extremely empathetic and knowing my increased activity may have lead to his injury as he was trying to keep up with me. All I can really do for Jerry is force him to take it slower and give massages after our short walks, you better believe he was a spoiled dog!
We did enjoy the day together nonetheless and I managed to get some things done that required a little more attention. We drove into town and stopped at Esquimalt Gorge Park one of the most historic and scenic areas of Victoria. Did my day 26 #Seven77 7 pushups for 77 days in the rock garden and we sat for a few minutes watching the birds in the water.
Overall it was a good day though I am concerned about Jerry's shoulder. He has been such a good boy and an excellent sidekick for my increased activity since quitting smoking. I will just have to remember he is starting to show his age and possibly leave him home when I wish to push myself so hard.

Wishing Jerry a speedy recovery.
Yeah me too but I do believe it’s an age related issue, I think he starting to show arthritis but they do have a few good medications to help for dogs. Our old dog Meesha lived comfortably till 19 on 3 legs thanks to Metacam so I know Jerry will do just fine but for now he is on a no running restriction.

@d00k13 If the dog was enjoying the walk at the time with you then its just something to aware of. Some dogs will want to please their masters so bad they will over exert themselves. But you gotta be aware of the dogs limits as they forget sometimes. Hope Jerry gets better and the shoulder heals.

He definitely was enjoying himself but I do need to beware that he will overdo it trying to keep up to me!
I suppose I’ll know by the end of the week when he goes in to the vet what’s going on with his leg.

How did you find Jerry? from a shelter?
Jerry was rescued from Mexico through MexPup an organization that does an excellent job rehabilitating abused or mistreated dogs.
We had originally chosen another dog but he needed further rehabilitation so they offered us Jerry who had just arrived in Canada.
Sometimes those things are fate as Jerry is now my therapy dog!
