See the winner of the last week´s North American Friday @justinmullet with the following entry:

Aurora. Driving home one evening I noticed what appeared to be spotlights shining up from the mountains. It took me only a couple seconds to realize that I was seeing Northern Lights, a rare sight here in North Idaho. I sped home to get my camera and drove across the road to the lake where I was able to see hues of red and pink. So beautiful!

Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.

Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #62 - winner announcement!

@vinceboisgard Asian Sunday entry:

At the ending of the day, when the sun is setting and the sky shine of warm colours comes the best time to get the board out. Bali is a nice place to do so and I always loved sitting on the beach watching the show!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #62 – winner announcement!

@axeman Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Ice soldiers. The coast of Baltic Seaa t Sventoji, Lithuania. A small city about 40km from Klaipeda. The remaons of old piers looks just stunning after certain periods of cold weather with ice hats on the tops caused by constantly hitting waves. This evening was very calm and got some colors only at the very sunset. A bit of long exposure to "move" the clouds. Enjoy it!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #62 - winner announcement!

@jpphotography African Wednesday entry:

Tinghir Ruins, Morocco. Until a few decades ago, houses in Tinghir, a small town in Morocco, were built next to the river. Now that tap water is available and a convenient access to roads and infrastructure has become more important, these mud-brick houses have been abandoned. The ruins located in the green oasis make for some great exploring!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday week #62 - winner announcement!

@photovisions European Thursday entry:

Amazing Skagsanden beach in norwegian Lofoten islands offers many photographic oportunities - one side of this very long beach has amazing patterns created on the white and black sand, changing after every water flow, in other part of the beach, during low tide, we can find amazing rock formations and small ponds with sea life in them. The best thing that the camping site is just next to these beauties.

One of the hidden gems of Yucatan, Mexico - ancient Mayan ruins of Xcambo. These beautiful ruins are located just some 10 km (6 mi) outside of the small coastal town of Telchac Puerto in northern Yucatan, about one hour drive from the city of Merida. Unlike, for example, at Chichen Itza, visitors are allowed to climb up the pyramids here.

Here is a picture of the Athabasca River near Athabasca falls in Jasper National Park. On our way back from British-Columbia, we decided to spend the day in Jasper before heading home and of course we had to stop at our favorite spot and go for a little hike. The river is starting to freeze but not quite ready for walking on yet so we didn't go too far.

Chasing Fog

As a nature photographer it pays to visit your favorite spots again and again. South Skookum Lake, while beautiful on any day, was especially striking on this morning three years ago. It's one of the quietest places around in late October, and except for my boots on the wet ground, the only sounds were the ones nature was providing.

Maui - Hawaii

One of my favourite drives - the back road to Hana in Maui was a joy as I slowly soak in the sun setting between the Pacific Ocean and the rolling hills. Close your eyes and you can almost feel the gently warm caress of the setting sun.

New York, New York. A city full of life. Yes, there is a lot of buildings, but we can still see green spots outside of central park. The High Line Park is located on a former railway located in the heart of Manhattan. The park extends from Meatpacking District to Hudson Yards. It allows us to escape the hustle and bustle of the streets of Manhattan.

Peaceful View

While the day gently turns to night, feather like clouds are changing color as they mix with the endless blue. I always marvel at the simple majesty Nature provides.
This image was recently captured in beautiful Sedona Arizona USA.

Man with Dog in Camaguey, Cuba

The UNESCO heritage old town in Camaguey is a beautiful place to take photos. When I visited Cuba in winter 2016, the golden hour light was beautiful every day and I was able to take tons of shots illuminated in beautiful golden sunlight.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

Bad Water Basin
It's hot baby, it's salty! Death Valley is a remarkable place on earth. I had the chance to visit it twice already and it' just amazing. Bad water basin is one of the attractions. The spot is below sea level, you can walk on the salty grounds and you'll start sweating right away after the first steps. The beautiful lady in the background is my wife:)
