Arches National park
A view after the first few stops in Arches National park. Looks like a never ending range of mountains and the clouds. Scattered clouds make the sun color the surface selectively.

This picture was taken on the edge of Jasper National Park, in the surrounding provincial parks. Abraham Lake is the largest man made water reservoir in Alberta. Decaying plants at the bottom of the lake forms methane bubbles that get trapped under the clear glass like ice and form columns (the white patches are the bubble columns, there are that many). BTW, those little dots by the mountain are people, to give you an idea how large this is. For more info, here is the post associated with this feature. (don't vote the post tho, it's expired...just for reading and a closer look at the bubbles)

View over Big Island, Hawaii

I have hitchhiked in many great places such as the Balkans, but Hawaii remains my number one place for hitchhiking. It was incredibly easy and during the two weeks I spent there I met many amazing people, such as an old hippie who drove me around the island for 3 days and showed me many amazing, little known places such as this one.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

Korean War Memorial, Battery Park, Manhattan , New York, USA.
The US have paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for their freedom during the Korean War with a silhouette of a soldier carved in black granite facing the bay with the Statue of Liberty in the background and Battery Park on the other side. A poignant reminder about the cost of freedom.

Rock Candy
Following a wonderful winter storm. The fresh snowfall looks like a sugar coating over towering red rock mountains, reminding me of the rock candy I ate as a child. The trees also look surreal as the underlying green has become soft and light under a rich blue sky. Sedona Arizona USA.

Madrone Trail and Dewies Birthday Loop is a 3.8 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Alamo, California that features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate. The trail is a nice mix of forest, streams, steep climbs and sweeping mountain views like this view just superb.
