Winter Charm. For the northern hemisphere tomorrow is the Winter Solstice and seasonal snowy cold weather could soon follow. When snow blankets the Red Rock Country it creates a charming effect with a beautiful blend of colors. This wonderful snowstorm passed over on New Years Day morning to start 2019 and left behind frigid temperatures in its wake. Sedona Arizona USA.

Taken in downtown Banff. A popular public park with a trail network and a bridge to connect both sides of the river. The park is equipped with dining areas, sidewalks and various activities to spend the evening relaxing by the river after being at the top of Sulfur Mountain for the day.

The Distillery District in Toronto is super cool, with great bars, shops and restaurants. I don't believe anything is 'distilled' there any longer but it buzzes with activity at night.

Street in Trinidad, Cuba

Trinidad's streets are beautiful, even more in the warm golden hour light that I enjoyed during my visit in late December 2015. The city center of Trinidad is crowded with tourists, but while the main square has some impressive colonial architecture, it is the side streets that make for the best photos.

The Switchbacks
Heading South to Sedona from Flagstaff Hwy 89-A comes to the edge of the Colorado Plateau then drops down into Oak Creek Canyon. It's a steep decent down the switchbacks to reach the bottom of the canyon. The view from the top is amazing and attracts many visitors to the public overlook.

The bayous of Louisiana are the perfect backdrop for a romantic or a horror movie. During the day, the trees have a magical touch, in the evening, they are spooky.
