Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 200 SBD! Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of Europe.

There is Switzerland which is, I have to admit, really pretty. But than there is the Saxon Switzerland, which is even better ;) Nah, just kidding. It is fairly close though, thus I spent a lot of time in this pretty little area in the east of Germany. This shot was taken about 1h/ 90minutes before Sunrise. Heavy rain the night before provided the foundation for this super cool foggy scenery. An ocean of clouds with only the peaks penetrating the surface. Shot with my Nikon D5300 (Sigma 8-16mm).

Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.
Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.

Baiturrahman Great Mosque. Masjid Raya Baiturrahman, is a mosque located in downtown Banda Aceh, Aceh.
The Baiturrahman Grand Mosque is a religious symbol, and a silent witness to the struggle and nationalism of the Acehnese people, And also the Aceh Tsunami Tragedy in 2004 ago, which devastated the land of this Veranda of Mecca.
The mosque is located right in the center of Banda Aceh City and is the pride of the Acehnese People.

Every year in June, Sydney lights up during the Vivid Sydney festival, where visual arts and lights shows covers the many buildings and landmarks around Sydney Harbour. This year, I am especially impressed with the strobe light show at Circular Quay, where rays of blue lights emits from the top of buildings as well as the Harbour Bridge lighting up the sky.

Jellyfish photographed this morning especially for the contest @czechglobalhosts ... !! Well ... not really for the contest "Tuesday of Antartica" I lie... (!). But on the other hand, it is true that this jellyfish came around my boat this morning when I woke up and that I had a pleasure to slide in the water to observe it under all sides. I hope you will like this share !

Golden sunset over the St. Peter´s Basilica in Rome, Italy. Located on the St. Peter´s Square in the Vatican City in the historic center of Rome, the St. Peter´s Basilica is one the most famous, beautiful and largest churches in the world and one of the iconic landmarks of the Eternal City.
That is pretty spectacular!
Near the town of Kalambaka, in the valley of Pénée, we can see the Meteora. Meteora is a geological formation located in northern Greece. They are the house of orthodox Christian monasteries that we can visit, perched on top of cliffs and gray rocky peaks, carved by erosion.
That looks stunning, what a great place.
Here's a picture of the beautiful Parliament in Budapest! I've been wanting to go to this amazing city for quite some time and then an opening came this Easter - so my boyfriend, his mom, and I went visiting and it was such a great holiday!

This is a shot from a little paradise of the Aegean Sea, in Greece. While the masses are after the most advertised destinations, Skopelos has managed to maintain a low-key vibe, attracting discerning visitors who care about finding out what authentic Greek life looks like, in a peaceful, unspoiled surrounding!

View at the famous Bay of Kotor from the Lovćen Nationalpark. The symbiosis of mountains directly beneath the sea is probably the most beautiful thing about Montenegro.
I just love that place. Thank you for bringing back some great memories.
Starting from Sorrento by ship and after about 1 hour of travel you get to the wonderful island of Capri, the ideal place for a holiday away from the big cities and in contact with the nature, here the tranquility is breathed and the sea is great....

Bavaria is famous for its Oktoberfest. Everybody knows Munich and its beer. Just one hour away is one of Germany's most beautiful Nationalparks. This lake is surrounded by mountains, forest and you can see it all in its perfect reflection. Hence, a hotspot amongst landscape photographers from all over the world. This shot of the "Hintersee" was taken at sunrise. According to the red and orange in the clouds... The wasn't for another 2 hours.

The Golubac Fortress is a medieval fortified town on the south side of the Danube River in East part of Serbia. Fortress was built during the 14th century, and changed a lot of owners. It was a witness of many battles between Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of Hungary. It was owned by Turks, Bulgarians, Hungarians, Serbs, and Austrians, until 1867, when it was turned over to Serbia.

Some time ago I was posting the series of photos from old military fortifications of Karosta, Latvia with some nice small houses moving into the sea due natural sea/sand erosion.
Actually the fortification system at this part of Baltic Sea coast was much more developed and just few kilometers to the north there is another part of it called "The Northern Forts"

Very interesting composition, looks like three different images in one.
Puddles in cities usually look not very interesting from above, but photographically they can offer great opportunities to get creative. People often look at me in confusion and don't understand what I'm doing when I place my camera on the floor, right in front of a puddle, but as long as the results look like here, in the Serbian city of Novi Sad, I can live with that 😉
