Many patients complain about the things that dailysis gives them and these things more often are not pleasant but they have to feel it in order for them to know that they are given an adequate amount of blood cleaning otherwise they will not feel good between dialysis treatments.

First of all they have to know that dialysis will take something from their bodies, among these are what their bodies also needs and that will really make a difference on the overall well-being and disposition of the patient. So number one is that they have to feel a relief.

Patients are usually waterlogged before treatments, they sometimes have a varying degrees of edema and have a difficulty in breathing. So during dialysis the water is taken out from their bodies and this will have a dramatic effect on their wellness and appearance too as their puffy faces and or limbs goes back to their original state or at least "deflate" back.

They have to expect to feel some cramps and it just means that the electrolyte imbalance has taken an effect on their system. It is inevitable that they would get an electrolyte imbalance because their blood is being cleaned and the acidity is affected so the muscles react by twitching to cramping. But severe muscle cramps is not good because it is painful so the solution is to not drink much liquid between dialysis so that the nurses wouldn't have to take off large amounts of water from the body.

They have to expect to feel hungry too because if not, then dialysis seems to be not working as it also take out blood sugars and protein compounds and when that's being taken out from the body along with harmful substances, it can make them want to eat, so they have to eat and replenish lost calories otherwise they might suffer a hypotension and or a low blood sugar. Hunger have to be expected because sugars and most protein compounds in the blood are water soluble and so they are included in the blood cleaning effects of dialysis.

Weakness is what the patients have to expect after dialysis because of the cleaning of the blood. Much of what their bodies needs just got depleted so they have to recuperate. Also the changes in blood pressure also makes them tired so they just need to rest and let their bodies re adapt again into another into a near normal state.

They would feel headaches because sometimes it correlates to changes in blood pressure and when that happens, carbon dioxide in the blood goes up and headaches ensues. This can be corrected by resting and letting the body recuperate and the normal blood pressure to return.
