Buying A Taxi After Bakery Business Failed

Here is the story of our car, it is actually the car of my brother because about 19 years ago after we have closed our bakery, my father's bakery they have decided to buy a car to use for a taxi. So we had contacted my father's sister which is my Aunt to finance the car together with the money that my second brother had contributed.

So my Aunt gave about $3,000 and my brother added about $769 in dollars equivalent and the sum they had bought a taxi service which actually have a line already or a route. It is already a member of a taxi service which travels from point to point from our province to the next. It doesn't roam around unlike the common taxi.

But my father suddenly just decided to sell the membership because of his own reasons and bought a stupid air compressor which we do not use plus a matching sprayer with the money.

The result was my brother have to pay my Aunt with the $3,000 the she contributed to pay for the car. So we now have to keep the car that we are using until now.

Funny

I can't remember on how we acquired the car but we bought a buy and sell magazine for the purpose of searching for a car fit for the money collected until we saw one that actually had a line already.

Then after test-driving the car my father said "Well the engine pulls very good" he told the former owner. Then they agreed on paying for the Taxi. Then came the moment that my father have to take it out the first time in the early dawn, the engine wouldn't start.

Being a mechanic he just tried to fix it by disassembling it only to realize that the cylinder walls are busted already. Actually the whole engine had to be replaced so we have no choice but to buy a second-hand engine so that the Taxi could be utilized as we have to pay my Aunt the dividends of the profits for running that Taxi.

So my brother had to cough out some more money just to buy an engine for that car. So it is just funny that being a mechanic himself my father just didn't foresee that there was a problem with that Taxi's engine considering that he test driven-it.

Now Our Car, A Life-Saver

Oh boy was that Taxi had been very useful, in-fact it had gotten useful and a life-saver for me most especially because it was bought before I had been a dialysis patient and there was this instance where I had a seizure after injecting myself with 5,000 IU EPO that my churchmate had donated for me.

That very day I was already in the car for my dialysis then the seizure happened, it started with a series of ticks with my face. I alerted my mother which is sitted in the front of the car so she went to me to support me and after that I lost consciousness. But maybe without our car the story could have been different.

Today we just use it mainly if we are going to the dialysis or if my brother would use it when they buy some groceries. It is too old that my father doesn't want to use it for long distance driving. I wouldn't want to board on it if I would go long distances because it is not comfortable to ride with anymore because of its stiff shock absorbers. But indeed even if it is rusted and ugly as an old car, it really has been my life-saver all these years.
