Dear Diary: We Just Came Back From My Dialysis Session Which I Wasn't Able To Finish

It is both refreshing and disappointing that I wasn't able to finish my dialysis session. Refreshing because I am dialyzed and my blood was cleaned and I thank God for it and at least I will last a few more days. There is nothing like a good clean blood as if you are literally cleaned from behind.

Well again disappointing because for the whole 4-hour session I wasn't able to finish the 32 minutes left and my nurses also kept on infusing Sodium Saline Solution (NSS) into my system just to raise it back up. They did what they are trained to do so I went back home without achieving the fluid target in which some of the intended water was not taken off.

I really do not like it if that happens because it robs me of the allowance of fluids that I have to intake between dialysis days. So I have to see to it that I must not overdo my fluid intake otherwise the water weight will get carried over and over until I suffer to much breathlessness.

I am really enduring the low blood pressure especially after three hours when my neck starts to have some pain which is a sign of that and then after my vision starts to dim accompanied by lightheadedness I called my nurses before I blacked-out. Then they again did their corrective procedures and after thirty minutes the weird classic signs so by then they just added more fluids ad finally terminated my session although I was telling them that I am okay already.

My BP went only from 60 to 80/60 and they are just trained to return the blood if that event happened even though there is a substantial time left but due to these nurse's short experience for the matter they are not just taking anymore risks. It is just god that the dialyzer that I was using is an efficient type otherwise it will add more problem in my body fluid management.

Are you able to read or write during the dialysis procedure?

I am not comfortable reading and writing during dialysis @organduo but maybe soon I might try it :D

Maybe listen to some inspirational podcasts?

I prefer to sleep @organduo because I get sleepy when reading, writing, and maybe listening or even watching TV.
