Dear Diary: The Reason I Don't Want Anymore Dogs And Cats Around The HousesteemCreated with Sketch.

Growing up I had built an empathy on animals especially for house pets and guard dogs because at one point our house pets or guard dogs for that matter will just fall ill and die and then I myself since I am emotionally attached to them already will also get affected like a person who had his/her lovedones fell ill or died.

So I do not want anymore of that so I just protest when my father or parents would think about getting another dog because our guard dog here now is just as emaciated as me, very thinned out because my parents doesn't give it food the way in my younger years I gave our guard dogs their foods because when we were still young part of my chore is to feed our dogs right after we in the family ate our meals and I never had one that had it ribs sticking out from it sides like what a thinned-out animal looks like.

Chores are delegated to us by my mother, my eldest brother is the one who cleans the table and the plates while my other brother sweeps the floor and my sister, well she just didn't do any chores. But the feeding of the dogs goes to me and we had a lot of dog at one time when our guard dog got off from its leash and got pregnant.

Anyway, it is just I am now emphatic to animals than in my younger years and also we had a lot of dogs already that died in a tragic way, one got strangled when it had jumped from the concrete fence because it is on a leash while the other one also got strangled for an unknown reason and the other one died of old age but with an ear infection.

One was slaughtered by my father and my eldest brother for food in my father's drinking session with his friends back then and maybe a couple sold by my mother for money after we got short from food. Not to mention little puppies and those "teenage" pups that died because of some intestinal issues.

With regards to cats, one was hit by a car and the other two were hit by our neighbor and died. So with all those tragic guard dogs and pet cat deaths I say that no more animals in the house except a guard dog which is essential for any homes here in my country because they do really guard us from intruders.

Sort:

Tired puppies get cranky just like little kids. If you have a fussy puppy, try nap time.

Wow, that's kind of shocking that your dad slaughtered and ate the dog when he was drunk! Hopefully he doesn't drink anymore 😆

Yeah and I almost forgot what he had done to my brother-in-law's dog. My brother in law is trying to kill it by feeding it food with lots of MSG because the dog was vicious.
My father said that it was quite cruel that what my brother-in-law did so my father strangled it up with its leash. >o<
Those were the tragic stories of dogs and cats in here so I do not want anymore pets or any guard dogs anymore.

😦😧😨

That's so sad! Your family has had a lot of unfortunate pets. I understand how you feel - we had two dogs when I was a child, and I was so sad when they died. My sister and her husband had a lovely dog that died after being hit by a car. Her husband also had a dog that got murdered by intruders when he was living overseas. They now have another dog, which I have a special bond with.
Terrible about your brother-in-law's dog too! Dogs are generally only vicious if they've been trained to be vicious or treated cruelly as pups.
I would love a dog of my own, to go hillwalking with, but I would get so upset if it got ill or died.
