Bidbots Are A Force To Reckon With, Do You Really Want To Fight Them?
A couple of days ago I posted about thinking of using a bidbot, well my reason of course is to earn of course just to offset a bit what the changes had done to my or everybody's earnings particularly those with low stakes in the steem economy.
The changes just had made my ability to earn to get weakened considering my status as a "little dolphin." Now I will be lucky to earn four dollars because right now after the changes I am earning less than that and it is not enough to cover my daily medical expenses.
Immediately after I had posted about thinking about using a bidbot I was warned telling me indirectly that I use them I will get the risk of getting flags despite my intent just to earn a little. So I am really caught in a crossfire not knowing what to do anymore except to just continue into what I enjoy doing most which is to blog.
So with that question in the title, do you really want to fight the bidbot owners? They are so powerful and I do not think anyone can fight them and what will happen is that their small users will be the ones that get hit by flaggers while big stake holders can get away with their usual business.
Flagging even if it is free is not a small stake holder's game, they want us to play it but I do not think everyone can do it lest you will risk retaliatory attacks especially if you fight big stake holders including bidbots. In the end the small fishes suffers which is my view on the matter because I can feel it myself.
I understand your need to earn steem for medical reasons. You will get no down votes from me, I want to save those for the real abusers.
But the answer your question... Yeah, I want to fight them. and it's not just me. Its a growing community. History has show us that when enouph "small" people join together they have the power to stop over turn almost anything.

I don't think the use of bidbots will automatically earn you flags. It's more when you are perceived to be abusing them. Of course, exactly what that means is a little different for everyone. But when someone posts spam and uses bid bots to pump it up to $75 or more, that's obvious abuse. I don't think you have anything to worry about in your case but I also don't know if an investment in bid bots will really pay off or not either.
Let us hope that people are reasonable when it comes to any of this with the HF. If someone wants to flag or down-vote they need to show their face and not hide behind an alt account with no posts.
I was down-voted for the first time in 2.5 years.The user has no power and no posts and no reputation. The down-vote was for using wrong tag...There is a polite way to let someone know without down-voting or flagging... I see some tribes doing this in a polite way.
I found people who take exception to the LEO tag be very rude to users. My solution dump my 50 miners and all tokens.
Today's down-vote I hit back with a 100% down-vote. I do not believe the person was from from the tribe, and I worked things out with them (Spanish-tribe). Users and then administrator were extremely polite and very helpful.
I have many nasty names for those who hide behind alt accounts and are abusing the system to hurt others, but I will keep this polite. Come at me with your real user name and account and then there are things I can do.

Yes these changes are hard for the new and small users @r2cornell while the big stake holders are impervious to it and are benefiting to it instead because they are immune to it.

I understand that you rely on STEEM for your income and don't want to get involved. Not everyone is in the same situation. I'm not going to be intimidated. They could zero out all of my posts and it will just make them more toxic to the community and speed up their death.

It's the only option brother... trust me. If you want your steem to be worth more than a few cents we need to deal with them.
