Today I was with one of my suppliers. I needed to fetch some bits and pieces and was basically doing me a favor to tie me over till the end of the month. I placed my order and waited for the invoice. The lady who was processing the order gave me the final price and I nearly fell off the chair. I know roughly the costs of the items plus a decent mark up so I had a rough figure in my head. The price was more than double my guesstimate. I felt this was a little steep and let them know. I eventually got 20 percent off but still felt violated. I know for a fact that it was still a 100 percent mark up.

Why are people so greedy and why are customers so gullible. Customers are obviously naive and don't know the value of items anymore. Inflation with everything going up in price even though the items are shrinking is making more profits for these companies. If these businesses put a reasonable mark up and not tear the bottom out surely they would be a lot busier.

If suppliers are getting away with it then how much are the big companies getting ripped off. It doesn't matter I suppose as we the consumer will foot the bill somewhere along the line.
