Bokonon by Creston Brewery

Bokonon by Creston Brewery is a hazy, double dry hopped IPA with a range of flavors from citrus juicy flavors to pine. This is a brewery that I have not heard of so I was excited to give their beers a try.

I chose this beer by the can. It’s a beautifully designed can with a beautiful beer to match. As you can see the beer is a darker IPA with a hazy orange copper color with some solid white head and a little spotty lingering lacing.

This one smells like a nice fruity zest with loads of hops and malt. I get some more interesting aromas like a hint of vanilla? I can’t say I expected that!

As for the the taste I get lots of great fruits. There’s tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, orange, light mango, and juicy pineapple. The finish is more savory with subtle caramel, vanilla, and a weaker floral hop bite.

The mouthfeel is creamy with some carbonation. The beer coats the mouth with a slightly syrup consistency. That feeling gives it some chew and makes it a heavier feeling.

Overall, it’s a solid beer from a lesser known brewery. I was pretty excited to try it and it did not disappoint. I can’t wait to try more of there beers.
