Of course, if you like huge piles of data, you can always head over to Steemdb.com and be overwhelmed by the massive amount of live information on there..
Buuut, to answer your answer your question here's a post by @fyrstikken
owh no no!!! the inflation rate has been rectified with one of the latest hardforks.. the inflation rate has gone down to 9.5% and it'll drop every year for the next 20 years until only 1% fixed inflation rate forever. so in theory the coins that will be produced by the end of 20 years is around 600+mil Steem, triple of what it is now.
of course, it is subject to change because afterall the chain version is only 0.18.0
there will be hardforks being implemented from time to time as the dev sees a need to improve the system. i think any hardforks should be announced quite widely across the site. I currently cant recall the exact account that will release the announcement on behalf of the devs behind Steem. But usually it should cause quite a stir..
There's a bot here at Steemit.. Altho you can directly interact with it over at Steemspeak Discord channel (you can read the post about it here https://steemit.com/steemit/@fyrstikken/introducing-steemspeak-com-a-voice-community-and-24-7-radio-station-for-steemians)
That gives daily report of the numbers regarding Steem Blockchain.
it's latest report is here https://steemit.com/report/@banjo/banjo-report-for-wednesday-may-31-2017

Sure can: The amount of Steem doubles every year. As of right now there is over 234 Million (you can find it here - http://coincap.io/)
Thank you. Doubles? hmm, seems like Steemit won't go up that much with the type of Quantitative easing in Steem coins.
Yeah it is an interesting problem, but I think a HF in the code in many years to come will be necessary. But that is without giving it much thought...

Not even version 1.0 yet.
What! That is news (good news) to me. Can you send a link to the info?
I made a separate comment on @crowe's post.. the links are all there. you should see it when you scroll all the way down.
Interesting, not what I read in the white paper at all...
Hard to keep track of all the changes...

Yeah it would be nice if all that info was easy to find so we could be kept up to date. I guess I need to follow @ned as opposed to reading outdated info - http://www.the-blockchain.com/2016/12/12/blockchain-content-king-steemit-hard-forks/
well any latest info should on steemit itself, logical right? hehehe
Ah yes.. the account is @steemitblog!
Good question!
Thanks.
Good question! Yes
Have you asked the permission to @anahilarski for using that picture?
I also want to know how many steem coins there are altogether. Pitifully nobody tells me about it till now.
